Ch 17

The next few weeks we haven't heard from dad and his gang. We been laying low trying to stay out of his radar. I walked into the kitchen only to see Kyle run out of a room. "Woah where's the fire?" I asked as Kyle run past. He didn't say anything but ran for the kitchen. He grabbed the first aid kit and ran towards the door he came from. I followed wanting to know what was going on. "Oh my god!" I said stopped in my tracks. In front of me was Aiden and Nick both bleeding badly. "What the hell?!" I yelled running to Nick since Kyle was attending to Aiden. I was able to stop the bleeding and saw the damage wasn't as bad.

"Someone needs to explain now." I told them while throwing away the used first aid stuff. "We ran into trouble on our run. That's all." Aiden said. "That's all... two out of three of you come back bleeding and you want to tell me that, that's all?" I said placing my hands on my hips. What? The mother in me came out. I looked at them waiting. "Your gonna tell me what really happened?" I said leaning against the wall eyeing them. Nick was first to speak. Smart boy. "We did our normal run. But we notice someone following us. We took a longer way home and we got jumped. It wasn't your dad or his men. Just some wanna be gang leaders trying to act tough. Trust me girly they got it worst. They just got lucky." Nick said to me.

Sighing I shook my head at them and started to walk away. "Oh...' I said turning to them. 'What the hell happened to staying low?" With that I walked away. I grabbed my bag and headed for the door. "Where are you going?" I heard Aiden say. "I'm getting Cass from preschool. " I told him. We decided to put her in school. She needs to start school some time soon. Why not now. "Give me 10 and ill go with you." He said to me. "Hurry." I said sitting down on my bed.

10 minuets later he walked out in ripped jeans and a blue plaid button up he put on his converse real quick and walked over to me. "I'm sorry. I know we're laying low but I wasn't gonna let them hurt me but like nick said they got lucky. Come on let's go get our little girl." He said placing a kiss on my lips. "Wait..." I said pulling him back and kissing him again. He smirked in the kiss and deepened it. I felt him slide his hands under my shirt resting on my back. Pulling way I couldn't help but smile at him. "I love you so much." He said starring at me. "I love you so much too." I said breaking away from him. He followed me out to my jeep and we headed down to get Cass.

We pulled up to the school and waited in the pick up line. I got out when I saw her group come out. She saw me and ran towards me. "Mommy!" She said as she ran into my arms. "Hey love. How was school?" I asks putting her in her seat. "Fun! I count to 50 with out stopping and thinking!" She was so excited. "That's awesome!" I said to her. "Daddy! Guess what!" She said excitedly. "Chicken butt?" Aiden said making her laugh. "No... I got invited to a sleep over!" We looked at each other. "Can I go it's on Friday." She asked us. "Lets see if we have anything going on and then we can decide. Ok love?" I asked and she nodded her head.

When we got home I got her a snack and she told everyone about her day. "Hopefully I can go to the sleep over that's happening this weekend." Cass said. The guys looked at me and the girls smiled. "What? I have to check she knows that." I said walking out of the room. "Mommy...?" I heard Cass say walking into the room. "Yeah baby?" I asked sitting on the floor. "I'm sorry if I making you mad..." she said looking down at her feet. "Oh Cass your not making me mad. I promise you. I just want to make sure your safe and not have another scare like we did a few weeks ago." I told her pulling her in to my arms. 

She nodded her head and curled into me. "Can we watch a movie? Just us and maybe daddy if he comes in." She asked me. "I would love that. Go ask daddy!" I said and she ran out of the room to where Aiden was. About 10 minuets later Aiden came in with Cass chasing him. "Ok ok I'm in the room. Don't tickle me please!" He said begging her and she giggled. I couldn't help but laugh at them.

He loves his little girl so much. "What movie?" I asked Cass. "Umm..." she said thinking. "Lets watch the movie paper towns!" She yelled. I couldn't help but laugh again. We turned on the movie and she sat down on Aidens lap and he pulled me close putting a blanket over us. I got lost in my thoughts through the movie. We didn't celebrate thanksgiving since we're held hostage by that time. We never celebrated Nicks and Ambers birthday. They were probably trying to find us. Kyles was coming up in a few days. What should we do? My thoughts kept going. Before I knew it the movie was over. "Momma? Did you like it?" Cass asked me. "Yeah baby i sure did." I told her kissing her cheek.

Aiden knew I wasn't paying attention in the movie but he wasn't saying anything. Cass got up and went to put in another movie. "What one did you put on now?" I asked. "Not a movie a show!" She said. "And what show?" I asked more interested of what she put on. She clicked play and supernatural popped up. "Cass this can be scary show. You sure?" I asked her and she nodded her head. "If your scared after one episode we aren't watching it ok." Aiden said and Cass agreed. We hit play and she was glued until the demon came on and she screamed.

I stopped it and put on pretty little lairs instead and started the show. "Ok baby girl we're not watching it anymore. I put on something that wasn't scary." I told her trying to calm her crying down. "Knew we should of watched it. Not even 20 minutes in and she is scared." Aiden said holding tighter to her. "I know." I said sitting back down. She calmed down and we watched pretty little lairs. She liked it instantly. Before we knew it dinner was ready.

We ate some dinner and it was good. Amber made a chicken Alfredo for everyone. After we ate it I gave Cass her bath and we watched two more episode of the show. She fell asleep on Aidens lap. Aiden was asleep next to me. I stopped the show and picked up Cass and took her to her room. After I changed into my pajamas and woke Aiden up and he changed. We got to bed and he pulled me close to him. My back hit his chest and I felt him hide his face in my neck. "Good night Katie. I love you." He said kissing my neck. "Good night Aiden. I love you too." I told him turning into him. I placed my head on his chest as his arm tighten around me. Before I knew it I was asleep.
