Ch. 20

Aiden grabbed my hand as we headed towards the garage where thier cars were. I instantly started to get nervous. Last time he raced he ended up in the hospital. Shaking I set my bag down and Cass was wide awake looking at stuff. Amber set her down but she stayed in eye sight not touching anything. She was very interested in the stuff that was in the garage and what the cars are. "Look like we have a car girl on our hands." Aiden said walking over to me. I just smiled and replied "I think we do. You know when she can drive we will be getting her her own race car." Aiden just shook his head and walked over to her. He really loves his little girl.

We spent the half hour before the race walking around with her. "Shit..." I said grabbing Aiden arm. "Dad is here." I said with no emotion in my voice. He froze and just held her tighter. "He hasn't seen us. I'm taking her back." I said taking her from Aiden. "Momma...? Is that papa?" She asked not looking away but she started to shake. I covered her and headed back to the others with Aiden right behind me. "Guys! Dad is here!" I said now in a panic. "Leave her with us. You and Aiden try to get him away." Amber and Dani said. I nodded and grabbed his hand and went back to where he is. When we walked up I saw Dad was closer to the fence. "Maybe he's not here for us?" Aiden said. I sighed and we turned and went back to the garage.

That's when my phone buzzed. Taking it out I saw a message.
Dad- I know your here at the race. I'll find you!

I didn't bother replying. I knew he would find me. I knew it. I showed Aiden. "The only way to take Dad down is to give him what he wants." I said. Aiden instantly shook his head. "No. No way I'm not going to loose you. I can't. Cass can't. We can figure something out. Trust me." He said. I knew what I was going to do. But I shook my head "ok. Let's make a plan." I said to him. We stayed for the races and our guys won each race they had. Celebrating their win we got something out to eat and headed back home. It was midnight when we got home and Cass was asleep. I changed her clothes and put her in bed. I changed into sweatpants and a shirt. I saw that Aiden wasn't in the room yet. "Hey, I got the back ground check back. Kaylas mom cleared it looks like her dad passed away. The moms name is Lindsay. It also looked like the Dad was in a gang. " He said getting in the bed. "Ok. At least she will be safe and if something would to happen the mom knows what to do." I said turning to look at him. He nodded his head agreeing. With that I fell asleep.

The next day I got up and got my shower. I put on a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and one of Aiden's shirt. I slid my boots on and dried my hair. I walked out and went to check on Cass. She was still asleep. The clock on her wall showed 9:00. "Hey princess. Time to get up." I said moving hair out of her face. She mumbled "no...5 more minuets." She said holding her hand up in a five. "Nope. Come on Cass. I have a girls day planned with us two and your aunts. And we need to get some stuff before you go to Kaylas." I told her. She bed her arms out to me and I picked her up. I walked to the bathroom and placed her in there. "Go to the bathroom and let me know when your ready for your bath. Ok?" I said and she nodded. About 10 minuets later I heard the door open. "Ok mommy." She said. I got the water running and got her in for her bath.

After her bath she got dressed in floral leggings and a yellow shirt. I blow dry her hair and she went to her dresser. She pulled out a royal purple hat and handed it to me. I placed it on her head and used hair pins to keep it on. She looked cute. She put on her black boots and smiled at me. "Stay there for a minute baby." I said walking out of the room. I came back in with my phone and she stood by the wall and I took her photo. I grabbed her hand and we went to the kitchen. "What to eat?" I asked placing her on the counter. "Eggs!" She yelled. "Coming right up my love." I said to her. She smiled and chatted with me while I made her something to eat.

I had the breakfast almost done when Aiden came in dressed for the day. "The girls and I are taking Cass out for the day just the four of us. Gives you time to just hang with the guys." I told him and he nodded. "I have to go get something anyway." He told me taking a seat by Cass. After a while we were done eating everyone else came out to get food. Cass went back to brush her teeth and I did the same. After we were done we went back to wait for Danni and Amber. Half and hour later the girls were ready and we headed out.

We went to toys r us to get a couple of stuff animals. She wanted a stuff owl for some reason and she wanted to get her friend a teddy bear. After we got that we headed for the mall. We spent a few hours there got some clothes and a suitcase for Cass. "Can we get food momma?" Cass said looking at me. "Yeah we can. Come on I think chick fil la is open." With that we all headed over.

After a while we headed back home with a few bags in the trunk. Cass wanted to get her stuff together for the trip. So we did and waited till the time to drop her off. She was going over around 4:00 and wanted to eat with them at 6:00. So in the meantime we watched a movie and Aiden walked in and joined us. "What are you watching?" He asked taking a seat beside us. He picked her up and slid over next to me. "Hunger games. She wanted to see it." I said hitting play. Half way through the movie I noticed it was close to the time she wanted to leave. "We have to go Cass." I said stopping the movie. "Ok!" She said and ran to get her stuff. "Well she's excited." Aiden said laughing. "Yeah she is." I said. Aiden helped me up and pecked my lips. "I love you Katie." He said. I pecked his lips one more time "I love you too Aiden." I said. With that we headed out to drop Cass off.
