Naruto and Vegeta Hold a Grudge

~CHAPTER 14~

"My face hurts..." I whined as I rubbed the spot on my face where Vegeta hit me. "Did you have to punch me out of that tree?"

"Stop whining before I punch you again." Vegeta commanded.

I growled at him. Vegeta and I were walking through the village, to look around. We were both wearing our ninja clothing, except Vegeta had wrapped bandaging around his wrists and ankles. "Veggie, you know you hurt your reputation when you punched me out of that tree." I mutterred.

Vegeta chuckled. "Stupid girl, there is an exception. I can fight you if we are training."

"stupid exception, that hurt." I moaned.

"Hey Hoshiko!" I heard a familiar voice. Vegeta and I turned around to see Naruto walking up to us. "What are you doing?"

"Just walking through the town with Veggie." I said as I smiled at Naruto. When I mentioned Vegeta, Naruto made a disgusted face as he glanced at him. Naruto never saw Vegeta in his ninja clothes.

"Why is he here?" Naruto spat as he pointed at Vegeta.

"Stupid human, I can walk around the village, can't I?" Vegeta scorned.

I could tell Naruto despised Vegeta. "He's just like the alien version of Sasuke! Let me guess, all the saiyan girls just loved you, didn't they?"

"Yeah." Vegeta sneered. "Why does it matter to you anyways?"

"You're exactly like Sasuke, your clothes are so similar, and you have that same personality that drives me insane! Always acting like you're better than everyone!" Naruto snarled.

"STOP FIGHTING YOU TWO!!!" I shouted.

"Fight?" Vegeta chuckled. "I haven't even begun to fight."

"Me neither!" Naruto agreed.

"JUST STOP IT YOU TWO! YOU ARE BOTH MY BESTEST FRIENDS AND I WON'T ALLOW YOU GUYS TO FIGHT IN ANYWAY!!!" I barked.

"Fine, I have training to do today anyways." Naruto said with a cold glare fixed on Vegeta.

"Hn" Vegeta grunted. "This pitiful human isn't worth my time, not to mention worth fighting."

Naruto gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. "WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN!?!" He hollered in rage.

"Veggie, just leave Naruto alone." I commanded. Vegeta turned his back to Naruto and grunted. "Well, see ya around Naruto! Maybe we can hang out again sometime?" I said with a smile.

"I don't know Hishiko... I've got a shit load of training. The chunin exams are coming up." Naruto said, as he calmed down.

"That's right!" I said and laughed. "Talk to you later Naruto!" I said as I waved.

"Bye Hoshiko... Vegeta." Naruto said and muttered Vegeta's name.

"Vegeta, say bye to Naruto." I said as I elbowed his ribs which seemed kind of boney.

"Bye." Vegeta mumbled and slowly began walking down the street.

"Bye!" I said as I waved to Naruto and started following Vegeta. Vegeta kept getting bumped by people passing by, and he growled in frustration. We were silent for a while. It was when we were by the forest line, Vegeta spoke.

"Why do you like that pathetic human?"

"Because, he's the only one who ever talked to me, or befriended me." I replied. "He is the only person in this village who knows my pain."

"You know if you joined my saiyan squad everyone would look up to and treat you the way you should be." Vegeta exclaimed. "You deserved to be treated like the princess of a superior race, you are."

I blushed bright red and shuffled my feet. Did he really believe that? "I'm touched Vegeta that you think that, but being a saiyan warrior isn't what I'm meant to be."

"Hoshiko, you were born to become a warrior. You were never intended to land on this planet to become a ninja. I'm sure you were sent here to destroy it." Vegeta said as he turned and looked at me.

"No I wasn't, I was sent here for a safe haven from the destruction of the planet." I explained, growing irritated.

"Hoshiko, please, just join my squad. Trust me, you will grow a knack for destroying planets."

"No Vegeta, I don't kill innocent people. I only kill to defend. That is why I became a ninja."

"You aren't a ninja, Hoshiko!" Vegeta said as he shook me by my shoulders. Probably trying to shake me into reality, and hoping it would make me realize he was right. "You aren't a human, you are a saiyan! Do I have to slap you across the face to make you realize that you were meant to be a warrior?"

I stared down at the ground. My red cheeks fading to the flesh color they were before. "Perhaps... But I'm a ninja now. You could whip my back, gouge my eyes out, and tear me apart limb by limb... I would still never become a saiyan warrior." I corrected Vegeta.

He let go of his grip on my shoulders and a small smirk crossed his face. "You sure are as stubborn as any true saiyan..." He said and looked straight in my eyes. His eyes were like dark onyx orbs that matched with his dark brownish black hair which resembled a flame and with short jagged bangs that fell perfectly on his forehead... What was I doing? Why was I examining his every detail? I just wished he'd stop talking about saiyans.

"So what if I am? You still probably think I'm more human than saiyan." I said still looking to the ground which was covered in long green grass.

"Maybe I do, maybe I don't. To be honest, I can't really tell with you. At times I feel as though you forget you are saiyan or try to hide it and at other times it seems you embrace it and show how you are proud of it."

"So you're saying I'm in between?" I said softly wishing he'd stop.

"I don't know... I guess I just thought you were powerful enough to be a warrior, but I see you would rather die than that." Vegeta said as he stood before me. It seemed his face was getting closer, and I panicked. I didn't know how to react. Just when his face was just inches away I held out a hand.

"Look, why don't we just train... as saiyans." I said raising my head, but turned so I wouldn't look him in the eye. "I have the chunin exams to train for." I added and walked into the forest where me and Vegeta always train.

I will probably not update as much because of this stupid project so, sorry if I update a bit slower than usual. I will try to update as much as I can, and when I can.
