~CHAPTER 17~
It had been a few days after the chunin exams, and two ninja had escorted me to the Hokage's room. I was extremely nervous. I feared, they found out I borrowed the ninja cards and began to sweat as I stood in front of the Hokage's desk with the two ninja in charge of the exams standing on either side of the desk with their hands folded. In the exams, the testing was a singe, and the scrolls was a bit hard, but I pulled through. In the tournament, I had fought Michi for the first fight, and it wasn't that hard.
Michi only charged me and tried to punch me, so it was easy to knock him out. Before the fight, I apologized to him in case I won (which I did) or hurt him. When fighting Michi, I used speed, and basically just waited till he tired out. Once he was out of breath, I quickly wrapped him up in chakra strings tied to two kunai which I dug in the wall to hold him to the wall.
He had a few cuts and scrapes on his shoulders, sides, and right cheek, and struggled to get out. I whispered an apology to him as I punched him with so much force, he was instantly out cold. I heard gasps, and then a long silence. It felt strange, and I knew everyone was then scared of me.
The second battle, was one I've waited for so long. I had to fight Katsu... I had the perfect plan for him... I ran around him as fast as I could to get him dizzy, he tried landing punches but it didn't work. I threw up dust and sand all around him and it looked like a cloud of smoke. I moved too fast for anyone to see and secretly tied chakra strings to his wrists, and quickly dashed to the trees on the side of the arena. I hid behind a tree and tied the two strings to a large branch, and hid small paper bombs around a circle in front of the tree.
When the cloud of dirt faded, Katsu turned and saw me by the tree. He charged me and I leaped out, ready to fight him. He threw punches at me, but I just dodged them all with ease. "What's wrong? Not gonna fight me? Just run away?"
I snickered. "You'll see... It's too late for you, you already had fallen for my trap. I said as I grabbed the two strings and wrapped them around Katsu as he tried to back up... Towards the trees. Once he he stood in the circle I quickly wrapped a string tied to two kunai (like what I did to Michi) and wrapped it around his waist and dug the kunai into the ground outside of the paper bombs. Katsu struggled and I leaped on the branch as I hoisted him up and retied the strings so he was in the air.
I leaped down and stood I front of him with a menacing smile. "So... This was my plan. I was gonna use it on Naruto, but it would be better on you."
"How did you make so many chakra strings? You have to be drained of chakra!" Katsu shouted in frustration.
I laughed. "Oh Katsu, I don't have chakra like you. I have ki, it is basically like chakra, but I have endless amounts of it. I can do all the jutsu I want without wasting any of what you call chakra." I snickered. "Now, I burry you alive!" I said and threw a kunai, igniting the bombs.
They blew up, forming a hole, about seven ten feet deep. I waved to Katsu as I punched him in the face with an incredible force and then cut the chakra strings sending him, plummeting down in the hole. I heard his body land and make a loud thud and the ninja who was in charge of this tournament ran up to me.
He saw Katsu, limp in the hole, knocked out. That is how I won both the tournaments by using strategy. I smiled as he declared me victor and I looked around. Not a single person cheered, screamed, or clapped... Except for two.
I looked at the two. Sitting near the other genin, I could make out Michi, who despite the fact that he lost against me, was glad I had won. He was clapping like crazy and was shouting my name. Then all by himself off not he other side of the arena, was Vegeta, clapping as he smirked at me.
I blushed but was kinda offended that no one cheered for me really. I bowed my head and walked out of the arena. "He's not dead..." I whispered to the man in charge of the tournament. I then left, no ninja dared to make eye contact with me. I felt ashamed, and just went back to sit down.
Like I said, it's a few days after the exams and I must say, the chunin exams were extremely odd. The Kazekage was an imposter, and turned out to be that Orochimaru freak, and sadly... The third had died. That's why the two men were gonna talk to me instead of the third. I was shaking as I stood in front of them, suddenly I heard a familiar voice. It was Shikimaru.
He wasn't glad being here, but he wasn't frightened. Later as the two ninja spoke, they told us that Shikimaru and I were the only two ninja in our class to become chunin and informed us on what chunin are responsible for and our new duties. I was honored to be the first... Well one of the first in my class to become chunin.
They handed Shikimaru and I the green chunin jackets, and we slipped them on. I bowed in respect and smiled while Shikimaru stood there with an irritated look on his face. I thanked the two ninja as I ran out of the mansion. I was finally chunin! It was so exciting! Just wearing this jacket made me feel stronger, and I was so glad, I just had to show Vegeta and Naruto.
