Chapter 14: On The Road Again

We woke up to to what sounded like a SWAT team at our door. Colson shot up out of bed and ran to the door, "who the fuck is it?!" He yelled, the kids jumped out of their bed and crawled into mine, clinging to me in fear. "Ay man let us in! We gotta go remember?" Hearing Slim on the other side, Colson calmed down and opened the door. "Damn man, you ain't gotta beat down our door like that, shit." Colson grabbed his jacket laying on one of the chairs next to the door and put it on before walking back over to me and the kids. Casie smiled when Slim and Ash walked in and ran over to give them each a hug. "Okay guys, it's time to hit the road and we're here to help you pack so come on! We leave in ten so we can't mess around!" Colson chuckled and looked at Ash, "you need to chill, we'll get ourselves together, you guys just worry about you." "He's the thing Kells, we're all packed and ready to go, now we're waiting on you guys so come on!" Ash said as she walked over to him, picking up what she could in the process. "Okay, okay. Everyone just chill, let me get the kids dressed and I'll help get everything in the bus okay?" I said as I got out of bed, Hunter was still clinging to me so I picked him up and put him on my hip as I grabbed for his bag. "You're such a good mama babe." Colson said as he grabbed me to kiss me on the cheek. "Casie, help Tenley out okay baby? Get your clothes and go with her to change." Casie put her hands on her hip, "don't you mean mommy, daddy?" She was in full diva mode this morning and Colson couldn't get enough. He smiled at her, "yes baby, I meant mommy. Now go!" He shoo'd us away with our clothes and toothbrushes, once we were all in the bathroom the kids got themselves dressed while I brushed my teeth, then we switched. After we were done we went back into our room and helped everyone finish up and get the bags under the bus. Once we were all inside and comfortable the kids laid down in one of the bunks with a movie and we went to the back of the bus so we could be alone. Colson laid down on the lounge and motioned for me to lay next to him. I did what I was told and he wrapped his arms around me. I breathed in his scent like I usually do, and became intoxicated by him, wanting more and more. Colson kissed my forehead, "I'm so happy to have you and the kids in my life." He said with his chin perched on my head. "I know how you feel babe, it's just a shame that Casie will be going back to her mom soon huh?" I looked up at him, hoping that he'll say that she's staying with us, but knowing the answer wasn't what I wanted. "Yea... I guess so... Fuck man." He sat up and put his head in his hands. I felt the emotions roll off of him, anger, sadness, which immediately flooded me. I felt the same and got up to curl in his lap, he held on to me and tucked his head into the crook of my neck. "So when's her last day with us?" I asked, he shrugged his shoulders and slumped back into me. "I have no fucking idea, in a day or two?", "Maybe we should call her mom and ask her? Possibly see if we can keep her longer? Or maybe when we have our next few days off, I bet she'll be okay with that." We sat there in the same position for a few minutes longer before he finally picked up his head and said okay. When we made our next stop he got off the bus to make the call. Looking out the window I watched as he paced back and forth, he waited as long as he could before pushing the call button and putting the phone to his ear. Just then the kids ran through the bus and jumped on me. Their smiling faces and laughter filled the bus. I hugged them tightly before telling them to go love on Colson. Just then they jumped up and ran out the door, looking out the window again I saw them tackle him, I saw Colson's mood change immediately as he stuffed his phone back in his pocket and picked them both up. Casie was hanging sideways in one arm, Hunter upsidedown in the other. He walked back to the bus just like that and once inside, plopped them down next to me. "So our children said you told them to attack me?" He said with a smile on his face. I giggled, "yea, well it looked like you needed a smile." He sat down on my other side and wrapped me into his arms, giving me a kiss on my forehead. "I did actually, thank you baby." I smiled up at him as everyone piled back into the bus. Once we were on the road again and everyone settled down I decided it was time to ask him the question I didn't want the answer to. "So... What did Casie's mom say?" He took a big sigh and hung his head before answering, "she wants me to put her on a plane at our next stop, apparently it's time for her to go back to school already and she wouldn't take no for an answer." My heart sank as I grabbed him and held him tightly. "Everything will be okay babe, I promise. What's our next stop?" He looked me in the eyes, "San Diego, then after that we head to your hometown." "Okay, so we take her to LAX after our show in San Diego tonight?" He nodded his head before laying down and turning on a movie. I snuggled up next to him and quickly fell asleep. I dreamed of a happy home, filled with laughter from our children, a fantastic marriage with Colson and a baby in my arms..

Okay guys, sorry this chapter isn't the best, and that it took so long, I wrote this whole thing on my phone, which was aggravating, there's just been a lot going on right now, but I figured you guys deserved a new chapter! I'm in the process of writing another one right now, so enjoy!
