We are running so fast and we never look back and whatever I lack, you make up

"Jon? Jon? Are you listening?" Ian said snapping his fingers in front of my face
"Where you even paying attention?" He said and I shrugged, Ian was my first best friend I made at the beginning of the school year.
"Ugh you're so unbelievable" he said jokingly
"Obviously thinking of a certain someone" he said wriggling his eyebrows and I knew I'd gone red I knew it
"Ha! I was right!" He said making me blush
He just can't ever find out, Ian has blonde curly hair and bright blue eyes and is about 5'10. I have brown fluffy hair, hazel eyes, and have a few freckles, and am the same height as Ian
"Pssh that's the last thing I'm gonna tell you"
I said crossing my arms
"Dude don't be a wad own up, who is it?" He said getting close and nudging me.
I stood up, picked up my tray and threw my trash away
"Come back you don't need to disappear!" Ian said rushing up from his seat and throwing his trash away as well
"Hey don't be a sour puss" Ian said swinging an arm over my shoulder

We make a really good team though not everyone sees we got this crazy chemistry between us

"Hey Ian-Jon going to Jonah's party on Friday?" Asked Josh a good friend of Ian
"Not yet" Ian said
"Well now you are" said micha winking at me
"Alright I'll see if I have anything" I said to micha and josh
"And I'll see what I got" Ian said
"Alright see ya later" Micah and josh said to us, Micah looked over his shoulder at me
"I think Micha was checking you out" Ian said in a cold but joking tone
"Oh shut up" I said pushing Ian away from me and he started giggling we grabbed our bags and headed for the library our next period which was study hall.
"What homework do you have?" Ian asked amidst the loud talking as we walked around the corner to the library
"English, history, and I think chemistry and physics" I said pulling on my straps, Ian is kind of one who doesn't have trouble with anything and can get his homework done in like seven minutes.... I was a bit different... I always struggled
"I don't really have anything" he said and I stayed silent
"But uh if you need help I can help you" Ian said turning to me as we stepped in the library I stayed silent and moved to our regular spot in the library and plopped my backpack off my shoulder and began to unpack my stuff immediately trying to get to work done

Jump starting your car 'cause this city's a bore, Buying e-cigarettes at the convenience store, Making new clichés on our own little tour Let's ride

"I don't understand something?" Ian said
"What's that?" I said listening and yet starting my homework
"Maddie, she keeps trying to hook up with me and Jonah told me he wanted to hook up with her but she won't because she likes me" He said
"and you don't like her?" I slowly asked swallowing
"Ni, not really" he said and I looked at him
"Why not?" I said and he looked down
"there is someone else who I really like, she is so sweet, she has brown hair, brownish blue eyes, and is like an inch shorter than me" he said going on and on about this new girl while my heart was slowly being torn apart and stomped on
"what's her name?" I said plastering a smile on my face
"Josie, she doesn't go here though" he said, and I smiled to be the supportive.... friend I was
"are you going to the party on Friday?" Ian asked. Mom would never allow she's too busy hooking up to watch over my little sister.... I could ask my dad if poppy and I could stay by him and than mom could go get a man and I could leave poppy with Dad
"I'm not sure" I said looking down and biting my left cheek
Although Ian was my best fr-friend and we'd been over to my house a measly amount of times I had tried to avoid talking about my family and Ian was starting to get the hint but Ian is a curious teenage boy... somehow he'll find out more and more about my inside life and think I'm useless.... how am I so sure you ask? That's a good question and I'll get back to you on that.

You don't have to say I love you to say I love you. Forget all the shooting stars and all the silver moons

"Hey mom can I go by dads on Saturday?" I hear a deep sigh before my mother puffs a smoke from her vape at me
"You know the rules Jonathan" she said blowing more smoke at me as she began cooking dinner
"It's just for one day and there's this party and I-"
"A party?" She said suddenly in a harsh tone
"You want to abandoned your sister at home so you can drink yourself to death" she said and I had to hold my tongue
Don't say anything Jon don't say-
"You mean like you?" I said almost immediately regretting it as the back of a hand met my right cheek and the floor beneath by hands
"Exactly like me" my mother said looking down at me
"I'm going for a bike" I said grabbing my helmet and backpack and heading out the door hearing a faint 'yeah yeah' from the kitchen as I biked down to Ian's house and knocked on his front door and Mrs. Kind, yep that's their last name... kind....
"Hey Jon Ian will just be a second" she said as she yelled upstairs to Ian that I was there
"Thanks Mrs. Kind" I said politely like my dad had taught me
"Hey Jon!" Ian said happily slinging his backpack over his shoulders
