"Rye Il!" Gary shouted as he followed after him.

He has been ignoring Gary since last night and this morning was no different. They would usually go out of the house together and stop by a bakery while on their way to the university to get some bread for breakfast but today, Rye Il headed out without waiting for Gary.

As they continue to walk, they met Hye Won at the entrance of the school. Rye Il walked past her, not even uttering a single greeting to her and went to the direction of the classroom.

"Why does he look so grouchy?" She mumbled but loud enough for Gary to hear.

"I told him that Jihyo and I are together." Gary said.

Hye Won's eyes flicked quickly over to Gary. "Heol! Finally!" She exclaimed.

"Finally?" Gary was puzzled with her reaction.

"You guys are being so obvious about liking each other. I was even wondering if I should pull you both together but I guess that is not needed now." She laughed and continued, "back to topic, so Rye Il oppa is angry because of that?" Gary nodded his head.

Hye Won sighed. "That's why they say best friends shouldn't like the same person."

Gary glanced at her but said nothing. He was about to walk to the classroom when he saw Jihyo heading towards their direction.

The moment Jihyo saw Gary, she felt butterflies in her stomach. The corners of her lip automatically curve upwards.

"Looks like your girlfriend is here," Hye Won gave Gary a slight nudge and teasingly said.

"Unnie, what are you talking about?" Jihyo could feel herself blushing.

"It's not a secret anymore," Hye Won replied, "your boyfriend already told me." She was having fun teasing the new couple. She decided to excuse herself to the classroom to give the both of them some private chat time before lesson starts.

Jihyo's eyes followed Hye Won until she went inside the classroom. She look back at Gary, with a perplexed look on her face.

"I told Rye Il too. I'm sorry for saying it out. Are you upset?" Gary return her gaze and asks.

Jihyo shook her head in response. "I would have tell them as well. Let's go to class. There's only five minutes left. " She glanced at her watch and said.

"Wait," he grabbed her hand and stopped her. "This is for you." He unzipped his bag and took out a paper bag.

She took the paper bag from him and peered into the bag. Inside was a lunchbox but she wasn't able to see the content in it since the cover of the box isn't translucent.

"Figured that it won't be easy for you to get your own lunch with your injured wrist so I prepared it for you." He explained.

"You didn't have to but thanks." Jihyo flashed him a smile.

Gary drove his fingers through his hair and tried to play it cool. Jihyo reached for his hand and held it, catching the suprised look in his eyes.

She maintained the cheerful smile on her face and pulled him along to the classroom.

As soon as they entered the classroom, Hye Won quietly got up from her seat while keeping an eye on Rye Il who wasn't aware that Jihyo and Gary were inside, and went up to them and whispered to Gary. Jihyo was unsure of what was going on. She couldn't hear a single thing of what she was telling him and all she saw was Gary nodding to whatever stuff that Hye Won was saying.

Though she doesn't  know what was going on, she noticed the worried look written all over Hye Won's face once she was done whispering, and she knew that something was wrong.

She looked at Gary, hoping that he will give her some clue to what was happening or to what had happened but he cast her a look of assurance instead and went over to Rye Il's table.

"I know you're upset but giving me the silent treatment isn't the solution. Let's talk things out nicely." Gary said.
Rye Il scoffed at his words and slowly lifted up his head to face Gary. "Talk? What are we going to talk about? To listen to you showing off how happy you are, how well you did at betraying your best friend?" He flicked his eyes to the right and saw Jihyo standing there, with an apprehensive expression.

"I didn't betray you."

"You didn't? You said that she wasn't your type but look at what you're doing now!" Rye Il stood up and slammed the table, startling the rest of the students in the classroom.

The chattering stops and the room fell silent. They were all staring at the four of them. No one dare to speak a word with that tense atmosphere hanging in the air.

It didn't take long before Jihyo finally realised what they were talking about. She was aware that Rye Il like her from the start and he and Gary  probably had some agreement between themselves. "Rye Il oppa.." Jihyo called out, breaking the silence.

Rye Il turned to look at her. His eyebrows were drawn together in a frown and he was just staring at her.

She could see the anger boiling inside him, his seething eyes. To her it was something unexpected. She had never seen him this way, and it goes to show how betrayed and awful he must have felt when he knew about her relationship with Gary.

"Sorry." she apologized.

Rye Il frowned and then let out a huff of disbelief. "Hold on. Am I the bad guy now? Why do I feel like I'm the one doing something wrong? You know what, if that's the case then so be it. I'm outta here." He threw his hands up in the air - a sign of defeat and stormed out of the classroom, kicking the chair that was blocking him on his way out.

"Yah! Oppa where are you going? Lesson is about to start!" Hye Won shouted but it was a pointless effort.

Gary turned to Jihyo and said, "I'll talk to him. It's not your fault, okay?" He  assure her before running out of the classroom to find Rye Il.

After Gary left, Hye Won looked at Jihyo and noticed the guilty expression on Jihyo's face. "It really isn't your fault so don't blame yourself. They will be alright again once they thrash things out." She place one hand on her shoulder and give her a light pat.
