Chapter 8
I was being forced to go to "Friends-giving" which Caroline and Elena were putting on while very other normal college student was going home for, but since we couldn't go home due to the magic deteriorating bubble this was as good as it got for us. I was in my dorm pretending to get ready while the girls set up, but really I just needed to see my best friend.
"Knock knock" Damon said coming in before he even finished speaking.
"Finally! I've been postponing going downstairs for like, half an hour" I say annoyed.
"Forgive me if I didn't rush to come see you at my ex-love of my life's dorm" He said in the same annoyed tone.
"I told you she wouldn't be here, and that's no excuse, when I, your best friend tells you I need you, you come!" I say flustered.
"Fine, so what's got you all in a knot and pushier than usual?" He asks sitting next to me on the bed.
"Everything. My life is a spiral of disappointing days..." I say over-exaggerating.
"That's a little dramatic, need I remind you I came back from the dead a few weeks ago" He says and I roll my eyes.
"Fine, poor choice of words... my love life has been a spiral of disappointments" I tell him and he makes an awkward face. I shove him in response.
"I need you to somewhat take this seriously" I beg.
"Is it Enzo or the quarterback?" he asks.
"Both. I keep trying to focus on what I want".
"Who is Enzo?" Damon comments while I ramble.
"But I'm also focused on not trying to hurt the other one..."
"Who is Matt?" Damon says getting more confused.
"So I keep battling myself trying to keep everyone happy but honestly... I'm exhausted and I think I only make it worse" I say collapsing on my bed. Damon comes over and does the exact same thing beside me.
"You are literally the most confusing person I know... " He says chuckling and taking my hand. "The only person you need to worry about keeping happy, is yourself" He says. I want to argue but in a sense, he's right. I couldn't let my fear of hurting Matt get in the way of me moving on with Enzo.
"This is why I needed you back... " I laugh and turn to him. "Why couldn't you be a decent person in the beginning, I might have actually considered giving you a chance" I say joking.
"No, you wouldn't have." He jokes back. "We both know it never would have worked, your too good and I'm too, well me" He says.
"There's nothing wrong with that" I tell him before I finally get back up.
"So I guess your going to skip out on friendsgiving?" I ask but already know the answer.
"Only because I need to find some coven, to tell me how to get Bonnie back" He says getting up and straightening his jacket.
"Bonnie? She's still alive?" I ask hopeful.
"She sent a teddy bear, back from the hell-hole I escaped. She's alive for sure" he says.
"That's great news. Let me know what you find". I say grabbing my phone.
"I will, and Aurora. Everything will work itself out... it's called fate or whatever" He says and he walks me to the stairs. "Save me a piece of pie" he says before we say goodbye and I head down to the lounge.
Everyone was already there, well the ones who were invited and did want to show up. There was Tyler, Liv, Luke, Jo, and Liam... because we were all one big happy family.
