I was outside the place where in 8 hours we would be having Jo's wedding but I couldn't bring myself to go inside. The night before had left my head a completely drained yet spinning mess, I was constantly thinking about my future with Matt, my best friend Damon possibly turning human, and oh yeah, Elena offering me the cure to vampirism instead of her and Damon.
It was a big deal. I knew it was. I also knew that it was too huge to even consider taking this from someone who I considered to be one of my closest friends. Elena was the first one to invite me into our circle of friends when I came to Mystic Falls and ever since then I have found a family within this small town and I will never look back. This town made me who I am, I found love, family and a place to forever call home... which is why I couldn't take the cure from her.
"What on earth has you looking so tense and moody" Caroline's voice stirred me out of my thoughts as I looked up and seen her usual caring smile. It had been almost a week without her, and even longer since before I had seen her look like her old self until now. I didn't care that we hadn't talked or said apologies, I needed a Caroline hug.
"Oh my god" I ran up and jumped into a hug with her. "I have never been happier to see you, the old you" I say pulling away and still holding her hands.
"I know, I know ... I'm back, and it's thanks to you and everyone else, thanks for bringing me back" She said with gratitude.
"We missed you" I told her honestly, trying to use that as the cause for all of my emotions.

"I missed me too!" She laughed and we got slightly emotional. "You can fill me in on everything that's got you stressed once, I get inside and deal with the bride's chaos because I can hear them all inside, and it really sounds like they need my help!" She jokes and we laugh as we head inside. Elena and Bonnie were just as thrilled to see the old Caroline back. She quickly went to taking charge and fixing every little issue we all seemed to have a hard time with and she magically made it better. Now it was just up to us all to keep the bride happy and sane until her special moment arrived.
Matt's POV!
I woke up to an empty house, I looked all over for any sign of where Aurora could be. I knew I was a complete jerk last night, bourbon and bad timing had left me in quite the predicament. I tried to call her, but then I heard her phone buzzing and seen it on the kitchen counter. I wish I could talk to her now, but I guess I'll have to wait until I see her at the hall for the wedding.
I quickly got washed up and headed over to Ric's. It was the day before his wedding and before anything I needed to apologize for being a dick, and maybe get some advice for myself.
"Matt, there you are, I was wondering when you were going to show up" Ric said as he answered the door and let me in.
"Sorry man, I slept in a little bit, plus I was trying to find Aurora but she left her phone at the house" I tell him, playing it off as no big deal.
