Chapter 16!

I woke up feeling absolutely groggy and still tired... I slept all through the night but clearly downing two bottles of alcohol was not a good way to handle my issues ... because I woke up with all the same issues, and a hangover.

I make my way downstairs hoping to find some fresh coffee and maybe some blood bags but what I found was much more of a wake up.

"Hey there" She stood looking at me with complete joy, it was Bonnie!

"Oh my god!" I instinctively ran at her and smothered her in the biggest hug. "Bonnie, your back! I'm so happy to see you!" I said squeezing her.

"I can't believe I'm home!" She said so happy.

"This is amazing, it worked, we got through to you!" I said thankful.

"I don't know how you did it, but I'm so grateful" She said holding my hands.

"Well actually Kai-" I tried explaining but she interrupted.

"Kai? He helped you?" She asked confused.

"Yeah... he did, I guess that must be hard for you to hear and actually believe" I tell her not being able to imagine what she went through with him in the prison world.

"Yeah, doesn't sound like him at all" She says looking uncomfortable.

"Well, enough about him, you're home" I say pulling her in for a hug again and laughing, so happy I had my friend back.

"I'm home" She said more to herself.

"As fantastic as that it... we have a problem" Damon said coming into the kitchen and interrupting us.

So as it turns out... a lot happened when I was in my sad, drunken state; Caroline had turned her humanity off last night after the funeral, she snapped Elena's neck. No one had heard from her since. Bonnie had come back and she also helped us learn that Damon's mother was alive and also trapped in a prison world.

"This is way too much information to take in all at once, at 9am, with no coffee" I say rubbing my temples.

"Well, it's happening... so where do you want to help? Caroline tracking duty with Stefan and Elena, or supernatural mom mystery with me?" he asks.

"Do you even have to ask?" I look up and him. "You're my best friend... I love Caroline but I think she'd understand... or not care" I make a joke but no one really takes it lightly. "Let's get going" I say knowing there was lot's to do. We opened the door and I was a little stunned when I seen Kai at the door, looking good as new.

"Morning, who's ready for a roadtrip" He said cheery and Damon walked passed him, barking orders for him to get in the car.

"Is he grumpy?" Kai asks me.

"He just wants answers... so we should get going" I say heading for the car and he follows.

"I hear Bonnie's back, that must ... make you guy's feel really good" he says looking uncomfortable to be talking about feelings.

"It's great... and I guess a part of that is thanks to you" I stop and look at him. "Thank you Kai... and I'm only saying it because no one else will... even though you kind of owed us" I tell him and he smirks.

"Thanks for taking one for the team" he said getting in the back seat as we drove to find out if Damon's mother was still buried where he thought she was.

Damon and I started breaking open the crate, almost completely finished when Kai decided to ask if we want help... but then quickly states he would rather not and the guilt he feels from Luke's personality is peeping through.
