A year. Its been a full year since that conversation with Luke took place. But its finally time to make good on that promise. The eclipse is here. And I'll be orchestrating everything tonight. I'd bring Thalia back, for everyone.
Luke's reason was partially selfish...no doubt he liked her. It was written on his face. But there is no doubt that more than just him would be happy about her return. And plus. She wouldn't really be returning. I don't have the power to resurrect the dead.
But using Apollo's gift of healing and all three of our combined strength, I could most certainly bring back someone from the brink of death. And that's all that mattered.
My siblings chariots moved closer in the sky, aligning. As this happened, I pulled on the immense power that was in all of us. I laid a hand on Thalia's tree and pushed power into it. As taxing as it was, I could feel Artemis and Apollo continue pumping more power through our connection.
I had no intentions of sucking them both dry. So when I could feel Thalia waking and her body being rebuilt, I cut the siphon and finished the process with my own power. In my arms lay a beautiful girl.
Black hair that was spiked. A silver bracelet adorned her wrist. Punk rock style clothes covered her, which I quickly changed to match the current "times." Still black but leather and more durable.
I knew the bracelet was her version of Aegis, and a cylinder in her pocket was a spear. Being the older brother, I made a neckless appear around her throat, small but close to her neck like her obvious style. I pendant, a silver moon over a dark sun, would change into a bow.
"Where am I?" Thalia stirred in my arms.
"Ssshhhh. You're going to be okay little sister. My name is Perseus. I am one of the three gods of archery. God of the Eclipse if you will. And also, your older brother, though my story is far more strange than that.
"I brought you out of that tree that dad put you in on a request from my...apprentice if you will. He really misses you, as I'm sure my fiancé does as well. I'd rather let them catch up to speed as I'd probably freak you out and you'd try to punch me," I chuckled. "Luke!" I shouted over my shoulder.
It took about five minutes but the boy finally wandered over. From the looks of it he had been about to pass out or was asleep, waiting on me. "L-luke?"
I set Thalia down and walked away to give then their privacy. On the way past Luke though, I murmured just quietly enough so only he could hear, "No funny business. She's still my sister and you will do this properly." I could hear him gulp but just smirked and walked off.
I approached the Athena cabin and opened it up. Seeing Annabeth at her desk, face-down in a book, asleep. I walk over and gently shake her awake. "Hey. I think there's something you should see."
I lead her out and point to the hill where her two friend are still sitting, deep in conversation. "Go up there. Think of it as gift, though your friend Luke asked me for it first." She had a questioning look in her eyes but she walked towards the silhouettes.
I think back to how far our relationship came. We'd been on so many dates. Almost at least one every week, sometimes more, a few times we missed because we were so busy. We'd either stay here, go to the special place I took her for our first date, or we'd go to the nearby town and walk around as if we were regular mortals.
I'd been very good. I didn't even kiss her until we'd been dating for like four months. That and her mother was hounding me to make sure I waited, not that I wasn't going to. I don't think I want a full blooded demigod child. That'd be really bad. They could be super powerful. And seeing as I was an immortal god, the son of Zeus, as well as this body is that of an immortal demigod son of Poseidon...I don't know if my kid could end up with their powers as well.
But on the other hand, Annabeth isn't scared of me. She isn't scared of our future. We a getting married in a few months, three months, a week, and two days to be precise, though, who's counting? To say that I'm excited is probably an understatement.
Not only would the prophecy be fulfilled, but I'll get to call the girl my life is centered around, my wife. And no one could take that away from me. I'd destroy them, no matter who they are.
"So, you're my brother? How did I not know there were three children of Leto? We were always told it was just twins not triplets." While I was pondering the past, Thalia had approached. I guess I didn't realize how much time had passed while I was sleeping.
I looked past her to see Luke carrying a sleeping Annabeth to her cabin. If I hadn't known better, I would have been mad. But I knew that to Luke, Annabeth was like his little sister. Someone he and Thalia had looked out for, for almost a year on the run before heading here.
"I was taken out of the history books because I attacked my brother and sister. They were sent to kill me on orders they thought came from our father, but in fact came from Hera. She has despised all children of Zeus, even those she gave birth to. She is a traitor and you won't be seeing her until the upcoming battle.
"But, in the end, I came back for my brother when he went to fight Python. I died there. Faded more like it. I was reborn a demigod son of Poseidon. But yeah, I guess it was a closely guarded secret by the Olympians because they thought I went rogue."
Thalia wasn't sure what to say. "Uh...do you know what this neckless is then?" she asked, to take the awkwardness out of the situation.
"Oh, that? I gave it to you after I brought you out of the tree. If you touch the pendant, it turns into a bow. Since I'm a god of archery, and you're my little sister, I figured I should give you a gift, and I'm really bad with gifts.... So I just gave you something I knew about I guess."
She nodded and then hugged me quickly before taking off for the Zeus cabin. "Tell anyone I did that and I'll give you a black eye," she yelled over her shoulder. I chuckled and walked to the Big House. Life wasn't too bad.
