Carl's pov

I was so nervous to ask her this, I know people don't really care about official relationships anymore, but I do. I think it's important to keep some things from the world before, or else we'll lose ourselves all together.

I sucked it up and asked her, I asked her to be my girlfriend. My palms were sweaty and I felt like I was going to throw up I was so nervous. I told my dad about this and he seemed happy, I told my mom too and she seemed beyond happy, even though they haven't been on the best terms. Rayne and I have been acting like a couple for about a year now, but I thought that making it official would make us just a little happier.

Rayne's pov

I smiled up at Carl and nodded,

"Yes, I would love to."  He smiled widely and I jumped into his arms.

We hugged for what seemed like forever, my head buried in his shoulder. He pulled my face to his and we kissed, nice, slow and sentimental.

I pulled back and sat on his lap. I leaned back against his chest and he played with my hair, we stayed like that until the next people on watch came to take our place. The next people happened to be Rick and Lori, once they saw us, they smiled, which was odd but I smiled back.

We went inside and up to our bedroom and I put my p.j's on. Both of us crawled into bed and Carl wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him.

"Goodnight, beautiful." He whispered into my ear,

"Goodnight." I said turning over so that I was facing him. I buried my face into his chest and fell asleep. Andrea was out of the group so now I could sleep at night without having to worry.  I fell asleep and had the worst nightmare ever.

I was all sweaty and locked in a dark room, my leg was bleeding and I had bruises all over my body. My clothes were shredded in places and it was hard to breathe. Someone stepped out of the darkness and laughed, not a happy laugh, but a dark, and evil laugh.

"Well it's nice to see you have woken up already, you'll be more than helpful, sweetheart." He said, leaning in and whispering the last part in my ear. I heard someone else step into the room. The other person who had just talked to me walked out of the room. The new person had an eyepatch and a leather jacket. He untied the rope that was holding me to the pipe.

"Well, hello there, what's your name?" He asked ripping the duct tape off of my mouth.

"Rayne. Why am I here?" I asked feeling scared and mad.

"Rayne, that's a real pretty name, I'm Phillip and you're here to replace my daughter, she died and um, turned, and someone killed her and took my eye. So I thought I'd take one of their most beloved members and attack them when they least expect it." He said, I swallowed hard and nodded. He was going to take our shelter. The best place that has happened to us yet. There's nothing I could do about it. I was all tied up, bleeding, hungry, and powerless.

Even though I was powerless for the first time in my life, they better not hurt Carl, or I will get out of here and murder them myself. Carl was the only one I had left. They can't take him. Phillip had walked out of the room and I was all alone again, although I wasn't tied up anymore, there was no escape route visible. I was in some type of room, like a house almost. I looked around and saw a window, There was a loft that I had to get to, but there was no ladder. I got up and started rummaging around. I found some glass and hay. That wouldn't help, well, the glass might, but I don't want to cut myself. I put a piece of glass into my right pocket. I looked around that area some more and saw nothing, I moved onto another section. I found some rope and my knife. I grabbed both of the things and kept looking for my bow and arrows. They had to be in here.
