Song: Dear No One By: Tori Kelly

Cas is human

|Third Person|

Dean is 18. He's been alone all his life. What would you expect? His father moving him all around the United States, never staying in one place for more than of few weeks. There was never any time to make a relationship. Even if he did some how manage to get a relationship, his father would drag him to another state in short notice. Yeah, sure he's had a few hookups and one-night-stands but those weren't real relationships, who would say that they were?

~~•~~

Driving the Impala one night, a song comes on the radio. Dean lets it play, too tired to bother changing it.

"I like being independent
Not so much of an investment
No one to tell me what to do

I like being by myself
Don't gotta entertain anybody else
No one to answer to

But sometimes I just want somebody to hold
Someone to give me their jacket when it's cold
Got that young love even when we're old

Yeah, sometimes I want someone to grab my hand
Pick me up, pull me close, be my man
I will love you 'til the end

So if you're out there I swear to be good to you
But I'm done lookin' for my future someone
'Cause when the time is right you'll be here,
But for now, dear No One,
This is your love song
Ooh, oh, oh

I don't really like big crowds
I tend to shut people out
I like my space, yeah

But I'd love to have a soul mate
And God'll give him to me someday
And I know it'll be worth the wait,
Oh

So if you're out there I swear to be good to you
But I'm done lookin', I'm done lookin' for my future someone
'Cause when the time is right you'll be here,
But for now, dear No One
Dear Nobody
This is your love song
Ooh, ooh

Sometimes I just want somebody to hold
Someone to give me their jacket when it's cold
Got that young love even when we're old

Yeah, sometimes I want someone to grab my hand
Pick me up, pull me close, be my man
I will love you 'til the end

So if you're out there I swear to be good to you
But I'm done lookin', I'm done lookin' for my future someone
'Cause when the time is right you'll be here,
But for now, dear No One, dear Nobody
This is your love song
This is your love song

Dear No One, no need to be searchin', no
Dear No One.
Dear No One.
Dear No One, this is your love song"

Dean thinks over the lyrics. He feels that he relates to the song. "Dear No One". It really is like him. Because it's a love song to no one in particular but it's a song that suggests that they want someone.

Years later Dean would find that "no one". But he doesn't know that yet.

--+--

Dean meets Castiel. It's been 5 years since he first heard that song. He still remembers it. He begins to grow feelings for Cas but he doubts Cas would ever feel the same. Maybe Cas just isn't the "no one" Dean has been looking for.

--+--

Two more years pass. Dean sang that song to Cas last year. That was the day Cas confessed his feelings to Dean and, in a way, Dean did as well with the song. Cas is the "no one", isn't he?

Dean and Cas got married exactly a year after that day.

--+--

Dean and Cas are now around the ages of 45-50. Dean is obviously certain that Cas is the "no one". They've been together since Dean was 25. They live happily, visit Sam and Gabriel when ever they can. Dean is finally, truly, happy. It only took 27 years to achieve that.

This is shit, I know that. I wrote this tired late at night just to try and get something out, generally when I write most of these, which explains a lot...Anyway, I promise I'm really trying to get things out. I'm running out of ideas. Give me suggestions, please. Peace out, Bitches. (Cry for Charlie Bradbury)
