Chapter 16: Leaving

I walked Jamia to Lyn-Z's house. The three of us walked to the junkyard and we were the last ones there. "Okay, now that everyone is here, what is this all about." Asked Ray. Frank stood up and held Jamia's hand. They sat on the ground with an arm around each other. They kissed and they both seemed happy for once. "This is about me." I said. "Explain please." Said Mikey. "I need to leave." "What?" Asked Lyn-Z freaking out. "Well I was hoping that you guys could come with me." I continued. "Where would we go?" Asked Mikey. "New York." "Then lets go." Said Lyn-Z. "Right now?" Asked Mikey. "Yes." "Okay." "Come on guys!" Said Frank. "Let me guess, we are taking my van aren't we?" Asked Ray. "You read our minds Ray." I said grinning and exiting the hideout. "Okay. Once we all gathered money and stuff, meet back here." Said Frank. "Okay." We all said and we all ran. I went with Lyn-Z because I felt like I couldn't leave her alone. Mikey grabbed my stuff for me and we all soon met back at the hideout. "Where is Ray?" Asked Jamia. "There." Said Lyn-Z pointing at the headlights of Ray's van. We all put our stuff in the little space under the bed. "Wow this is amazing." Said Jamia. "Thanks." Ray said. "We both worked on it." Said Christina. Ray drove, Frank and Jamia laid in the bed above the main bed where Lyn-Z and I slept. Christina sat in the passenger seat, Mikey and Alicia slept on the couch that folds into a bed. We were finally on our way. Ray drove for two hours when I began to drive because he was getting tired. Lyn-Z sat in the passenger seat and I held her hand the whole time. When everyone was asleep I began to speak. "Lyn-Z, I want you to know that I am here all the way with you." "I know you are. You are too good of a person to ditch me." She said looking out the window. I pulled over on the highway and turned her head. I took a case out of my jacket pocket and kept it in my hand. "Lyn-Z Ballato, will you marry me?" She began to cry and said "Yes, of course!" She kissed me and I slid the diamond ring on her finger.
