"Emm just keep on going straight, it is the house at the end of this road."

I am nervous, I am in the car with Ashley and Amy, they run the school. They are known as the 'Bees'. My parents had an emergency business meeting and had to call in a favour from Mrs Lawson, Ashley's mum to send me home because neither of our two drivers were available.

"Yeah, it is right here," I said to Mrs Lawson as she slowly came to a complete stop in front of my house.  I could feel their eyes peering through the car window trying to see what my house looked like. I could hear them snickering between themselves, obviously at the size of my house.

Yes it is small, it is a two bedroom two bathroom house, with a garden at the front and a garage on the side. From the façade of the house, one cannot tell that there is a pool at the back. Little that they know that the house is my own. I lived there alone. That my parents gave me that house as a sweet eighteenth birthday gift. Their idea of a little independence for their little girl (even though they are just a corner away from where I am and that my birthday is in a month and the house was done 5 months ago). My parents stayed in a big house just off the corner from my house but due to the slope it is on, one would assume that my house is all there is at the end of the road instead of a mansion.

As I got down from the car, I thanked Mrs Lawson and said goodbye to the two girls. They were smiling in the fakest way one could fake and chimed simultaneously, "Can’t wait to see you in school Pasha!". Mrs Lawson smiled along, completely oblivious to the fact that her daughter and her best friend are already plotting the complete and utter humiliation of Pasha Anderson.

Sighs, at least I have the weekend to look forward to.  I had it all planned out: shopping, swimming in the pool, finish reading that book Uncle Mark gave to me and start running again. Notice how I did not mention hanging out with friends? That is because I just moved to this school earlier this week and only had attended school on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. The first two days were orientation days. Ms Cooke, the principal, thinks it is a good idea for new kids to have two days of just soaking in the school environment. Yes she is a special kind of educator I must say. The problem was, I came here mid semester which meant I was the only new kid thus spent the two orientation days, alone, memorising the school's layout while listening to my iPod. I had to follow my parents to the company's board meeting on Wednesday and arrived home Thursday night. On Friday, the whole school was busy decorating the gym while the cheerleaders and the jocks prepare for PepRally week. It was Ms Cooke's idea to instil school spirit, I did mention she is a special kind of educator didn't I? Since they were all assigned to a specific committee a few weeks back, and I did not belong to any one of them, I spent my Friday sleeping in an empty classroom, catching up on desperately needed sleep.

I walked through the side gate and pushed the front door, only to be greeted by the smell of cookies. I saw Mary, one of our helpers taking out another tray of freshly baked cookies. "Hi Mary! I'm home. WhatchumakingthereandcanIpleasehaveone?" I said while pulling a puppy face. She smiled and said, "Of course Ms Anderson but only one or two because these are for the kids down at the shelter". I glared at her, "How many times must I tell you to call me Pasha?". "Sorry Ms Anderson, I mean Ms Pasha I mean Pasha. It is a force of habit", she replied. I laughed while taking a cookie and headed to my room. She only comes down from the mansion twice a week just to keep the house clean but since I keep it tidy and clean myself, she bakes instead.

I turned on the TV and hopped into bed. Flipping through channels, settled on 'Sick Sad World' and rested my head on the pillow. Before I knew it, I opened my eyes, it was already 10pm. Great, a whole day wasted. I jumped into the shower and changed into a tank top and shorts. I opened my  school folder and looked at what lessons I had missed on Wednesday and Thursday. 'Hmmph, this seems easy enough,'  I thought to myself while scanning the Maths and English Lit worksheet. I finished the worksheets in two hours, brushed my teeth and went to bed.
