He heard his phone ringing from the other room. 'How long has that been ringing?' he wondered. Pasha hasn’t woken up and pleasantly hasn’t been woken up by nightmares. He got up slowly and hastily went to answer the phone. By the time he got to the phone, the caller had hang up. He looked at his phone.
13 missed calls from Unknown Number
He dialled the number and waited for an answer.
"Hey Luuuke!" answered Liam, obviously way too happy for a normal human.
"Liam? Is this you?" replied Luke.
"Yeaaaaah." He answered. *Go away. No I don’t mean it like that babe. Just gimme a sec. I'm on the phone here.* "Hey, just wanted to know and ask how you are doing with Pasha? How is Pasha?"
"She's doing better… except for the nightmares."
"What nightmares?"
"The one where she would wake up screaming?"
"I don’t know man. She's never had that with me."
"She didn’t have one when I was sleeping with her last night though."
"What?! You already are sleeping with her? What the hell man! Not cool!"
"Calm down Liam. We didn’t do anything. We were just literally sleeping."
"Good! I won't have you hurting her again!" he paused. "Maybe that is it. She doesn’t get the nightmares when there's someone sleeping with her because she has been sleeping in my bed ever since the funeral. AND I MEAN LITERALLY SLEEPING!"
"Haha I wasn’t even thinking that. Are you having fun there Liam?" Luke changing the subject.
"BEST. VACATION. EVER. I don’t know why we keep going to snowy and cold places. The sun and the beach is the place to be!" he answered. In the background, Luke could hear girls giggling.
"I got to go now Luke! Will talk to you soon. Send my love to Pasha. Byyeeee!" yelled Liam over the receiver.
Luke got into the shower and got changed. He heard a clang coming from the kitchen. He rushed out to see Pasha standing still surrounded by broken plates. He saw blood dripping on the floor. He rushed to her, carefully avoiding the broken glass on the floor and reached for the first aid kit. He lifted her by her underarms and sat her on the bar stool. He opened the first aid kit, swabbed the yellow solution on to the open cut and placed a band aid over it. Without thinking, he kissed her plastered finger.
"There, now you'll get all better."
She just stared at him, then it dawned on him what he had done.
"I am so sorry Pasha. I didn’t mean to. I wasn’t thinking. It was just what I did the first time around." he stuttered.
"It was just like when I cut my finger last. I can't believe you remember where the first aid kit was and everything." She stated.
"Sorry again."
"It's okay."
"What were you trying to do anyway?" he asked her.
"I wanted to make breakfast, but realised that we had forgotten to get groceries yesterday. So I wanted to put the plates back but they just slipped out of my hands I guess," she explained.
"Let's go have breakfast out then."
"I haven’t showered." She said.
"So… go." He chuckled.
He waited for her on the couch in the living room.
'This was like the first time I came to her house, or was it the second time? I was waiting for her on this spot too. So much has happened between then and now but here I am back at square one. Is this my third chance to make it right? Third time lucky?' He thought about how she said she saw Reid yesterday. 'No matter how it happened, it clearly has helped her feel better, apart from the nightmares. That is easily fixed though, she just needs someone to be there next to her all the time.' He smiled, knowing that this would just mean he would get to be with her all the time. That he would be able to feel her warm body next to him.
