I was lost.

'Good going Pasha, what were you thinking, running in the dark in a new place.'

'It's okay be calm Pasha, just retrace your steps.'

I started running back. Damnit I am sure lost as hell and I did not bring my phone with me - brilliant moment number two. It was almost 12 and the streets were empty. I was about to lose hope when I saw a pair of headlights, I had no choice but to wave it down. It was a Cadillac, 'Nice', I thought to myself. The car stopped by the road and I saw two guys and a girl in the car,

"Hi! Sorry I am new here and I stupidly left my phone at home and am lost, can you please tell me where View Road is?"

"It is that way and then turn on the second left and keep on going down the road and turn left again," said the driver while pointing to the back of me.

"Alright thanks!"

"Baaaaaaabe, are you that insensitive to let her go off on her own at past midnight?" the girl at the back chimed.

"Yeah Dean, what is wrong with you? Hey you, jump in and we'll take you home safely. Scouts honour!" said the guy on the passenger's side.

I was tired from being lost, so I accepted the offer and jumped in the back of the car.

"Nice ride,"  I said.

"Thanks, I fixed it up myself. I am Dean by the way. And this is Luke and that's my girl Sandra."

"I am Pasha."

"Where did you say you lived again?"

"View Road."

"Whoa, isn't that where the richies live?"

The ride only took 10 minutes and Dean did most of the talking, Luke was just quiet and Sandra had fallen asleep. I am not much of a talker, and when I do I am only more lively with the staff, family and people that I am comfortable with. Never with peers or strangers.

Dean stopped the car. Both Luke and he looked at my small house and looked at me. There was this awkward silence. I know what they were thinking, how is she on View Road but her house is so small and how is she staying there with her parents, that cannot be a comfortable  living arrangement. I decided to ignore the silence. I whispered, "Thanks guys," for fear of waking up Sandra from her slumber.

The Cadillac drove off. I went in to the house, had  a bath, changed into my pyjamas then finally drifted off.

Sunday came…

I woke up to the smell of bread. 'Hmm Mary must be baking again.' I thought to myself.  I did not bother looking at the clock knowing the sun was well up, I had a shower, got changed into a pair of pink shorts and a loose t-shirt. I had no plans today. Just to laze around the house and laze some more.

"Good morning Mary!" I chirped.

"Good morning Pasha, sorry if I woke you but your parents said to come down to tell you that they would not be here for the next few weeks… business."

"Oh okay, thanks Mary. I'll just be by the pool ok if you need me."

I laid down on one of the sun chairs and started reading Uncle Mark's book. As I was reading it, a note fell down. 'Hmm how come I have not noticed that before?'  I read the note,

"Hey Princess, your birthday is coming up soon, so what do you want that you don't already have? J. Text me soon ok,

Love,
