Hello! I just wanted to add a note. In my chapters, they switch from different times. It goes from Sayuri in high school and Sayuri in college. I know, it's confusing. Just think of it as this: Sayuri is currently in college, but she keeps thinking back to herself in high school, when she was living with Kakashi.
That's all I wanted to say. Anyways, thank you so much for taking the time to read my book!

Sakura saw through Sayuri's lie the moment her fingers signed it. She felt guilty about asking the question, but saw it as the perfect opportunity to hand her the gift Sakura made for her.
Sakura never understood a lot of things about Sayuri. Things like why she was selectively mute, why she always seemed to tense up at the sight of her brother, and why Sayuri kept pushing her away from any sign of friendship. But Sakura chose to never question her, as it seemed a touchy topic.
But Sakura really wanted to befriend her roommate. She knew there was something dark and painful about Sayuri, but she wanted to help her get through it. She knew it wasn't because Sayuri suddenly pitied her into helping her.
But the more Sakura tried pressing, the more Sayuri pushed herself away. Sakura was feeling frustrated.
But that night, when Sakura went back to her room after a Christmas party with her friends, there was the sign of a beginning friendship. She collapsed on her bed and turned to her side, where she could see her dresser beside her bed. She smiled in glee when she saw an unopened present sitting on her dresser, with the label: From, Sayuri.
