Hey guys, I've recently submitted this book as well as my other book in the Anime Fanfic Awards! I also added this note in my other book as well. Anyways, thanks so much for reading, and I hope you enjoy the book so far! :]
...---...
"Hey Sakura, who's that roommate of your's? She's kinda cute." The moment those words flew out of Kiba's mouth, Sakura jumped. She knew Sayuri didn't associate herself with any of her friends--well she didn't associate herself with anyone.
I'll be getting her more than a friend--possibly a boyfriend! At the sudden word, Sakura felt something weird in her stomach. But she immediately brightened up and smiled at the Inuzuka. Kiba has eyes for any girl he sees. She thought. But at least they'll get along!
Sakura then told him that she'd try to set them up. But there was something she forgot.
Kiba does fall for any girl he sees, but he also plays with them.
"Hey, Sayuri, a friend of mine wants to know if you wanna hang out with him!" Sakura said once her roommate came back to the room. Sayuri looked surprised, but then grew confused.
"A guy? Who?"
"Kiba Inuzuka." Sayuri held the urge to roll her eyes as she plopped herself onto her bed. She disliked the Inuzuka, but didn't want to insult Sakura and her friends.
"Why would he be interested in me?" She signed, but Sakura only shrugged.
"He said you were cute!" Sayuri held in a gag and kept her indifferent face. "You should talk to him, and be friends!" Sayuri only stood up to walk to the small kitchen in the room (a ten feet by eight feet area in the corner with only two cupboards, a tiny refrigerator, and a small counter) and grabbed herself a cup of water.
"Or...you could be more than friends!" Sayuri almost choked on her water and set it down quickly on the counter. The water sloshed and splashed onto the counter, but she was busy hacking and coughing out the water she choked on.
"Yeah, no thanks," Sayuri responded, hands barely making the signs as she coughed. After she calmed down from her cough fit, Sakura stared at her with such a guilty emotion. Why does she look like that? Sayuri thought.
"Sorry if I was invading your life," Sakura apologized. After reading Sayuri's signs spelling out, "It's okay," Sakura stood up and walked over to Sayuri. Sakura's slender fingers gently grasped her shoulder and gave Sayuri a little shake.
"I just...I know you don't associate yourself with other people. It might be your way of life, but...I just wanna give you some company." Sakura said, eyes boring into Sayuri's with those that reminded Sayuri of a faint memory of her mother. Sakura then let go and walked away, rambling as she sat herself on her bed. "What was I thinking? I mean, Kiba doesn't even sign! And, he's too...loud and obnoxious, you know? Like Naruto. You two wouldn't get along."
For some reason, Sakura felt relieved that Sayuri didn't want to hang out with Kiba. She felt the weird feeling in her stomach (the one she felt when Kiba asked about Sayuri) fade away. But she waved it off--I don't have any symptoms of any illness, so I'm fine.
Sayuri nodded and walked past Sakura, signing, "Thanks for being concerned about me. But I'm fine. I already have a friend, and that's you." Sayuri tensed after mentioning the fact that she considered Sakura as her friend, but relaxed when seeing Sakura's smile. "I'm gonna take a shower."
Sayuri knew that Sakura was only trying to help with her 'antisocial problem.' Sakura was trying to help Sayuri get a friend, and possibly a boyfriend.
But as Sayuri let the warm water hit her head like a tsunami (the luxury of bathing in warm water was one she didn't have when she lived with Kakashi), she couldn't help but think the thought that she kept buried in the deep depths of her head for a long time...
I don't want him, or anyone else. I only want her.
