/Jays POV/

We all headed out to the beach, me in my new suit Dan bought me. It took a lot of courage to try those swim suits on and then show myself in front of them, but I knew I'd make them unhappy, and I couldn't bear to do that.

I'm surprised we haven't bumped into fans yet walking across the street and down two blocks to the beach, Dan and I holding hands the whole way. if I were a fan, I would've noticed his quiff, who wouldn't notice his quiff though?

I have to admit, seeing him hug fans and give them kisses on the cheeks, make me feel, weird. Probably jealousy. It makes me feel the way I use to always feel when reading interviews or watching live performances of bastille. Depressed.

Don't worry, I'm sure I'm not getting bad again, if I were to get bad again though, it would hurt the whole group, and again, i couldn't bear that.

We headed to the beach and found the last empty space left, well it seemed like it was. The beach was crowded, I guess many people vacation during cold weather! It seemed we were the only people with accents here, it made us feel special though, because most people would wonder why a group of people from London would head to California right after Christmas, I wouldn't have an explanation for that.

I was in the midst of putting sunscreen on my legs, which were the only items on my body left to do, when Dan grabbed me and through me over his shoulder running towards the crowded waters. I screeched but quieted when realizing the attention I was bringing to myself. Dan saw the flash of cameras and stopped. We both had just become very self conscious. He sat me down and whispered, "lets just get into the water as fast as we can okay?" He grinned. "Okay. I'll race you," I said sprinting off. Running in the sand is harder than it looks.

I jumped into the salty water and choked when I swallowed some. "That is disgusting." I said gagging and Dan just laughed. His hair now flat from the water. I ruffled it with my hand and he laughed. We were later joined by the others. It was a mad house when they came in, they began dunking each other and going crazy.

The waves got really big and crazy after a while, and we drifted out so far we could barely touch. "Um, maybe we should move up, we are getting pretty far out." They all agreed and on the next wave, we jumped up and let it push us almost all the way back up. I had done a couple front flips, that's how hard the water is. I came up and it seemed everyone did some stunts. "That was wicked!" I yelled and they all agreed. A group of very revealed girls swam over to us, they looked in there teens still.

"Your Bastille right?" one girl asked, she seemed pretty confident with herself. "Yeah," will answered. "Can we have a picture with you guys?" She asked and they nodded. I ended up having to take the picture and wasn't too happy to see one girl push herself onto Dan. He looked pretty uncomfortable but smiled anyway. They talked with us for a while, but I moved to where I was next to Dan. My boyfriend.

I don't mean to sound like the snobby girlfriend who's overly protective, but I couldn't help it, and Dan didn't seem to mind. One girl, a blond, swam to Dan and asked him, "are you guys dating?" Referring to me and him. Dan answered back, "Yes!" And smiled to me pecking my lips.

"Oh," she spat, "why?" She asked to Dan. "Because, I love her," Dan answered her. I smiled and hugged him. We swam a little deeper out, away from the girl, "that was terrifying," Dan admitted and I laughed. "Yeah, she did seem a little pushy!" He laughed too.

/Dans POV/

"Do you want to go make a sandcastle?" I asked Jay pointing up to the sandy beach. She nodded and got a little ahead of me before yelling, "Ill beat you!" And laughing. She started swimming as fast as her small body could, but lets face it, she was still too slow to beat me.
