Part8

"How was your date?"

Jimin looked up from his locker to see where the voice was coming from, though he already knew who it was. The person that left him weeks ago, the one who he called his friend.

The mint haired boy was shifting uncomfortably in front of him, eyes glued to the floor. He was biting his lip while twirling the straps on his backpack.

The shorter boy continued to put his books in the locker, ignoring Yoongi. "Why do you care?" He spoke harshly, slamming his locker shut, and letting out a deep sigh. "Besides," His tone was softer. "you said you didn't want to be friends."

"I didn't mean it."

"Then why'd you say it?"

Yoongi sighed, running his hands over his face. "Can we not talk about this now? My class is about to start."

Jimin rolled his eyes, walking past him. He didn't know why Yoongi was going through all this to probably upset him again. He just wished he never said anything about that date.

The date.

Thinking about it brought a smile on his face. Jungkook had been so sweet though the whole thing and there was never any awkward moments. The raven haired boy wanted to know everything about Jimin, and he shyly told him. There wasn't much to tell but Jungkook made it seem more interesting than it was.

Jungkook talks little about himself but what he told Jimin thought was pretty impressive. The age gap wasn't as large as Yoongi thought it was. Jungkook was only eighteen, and luckily there was no wife or kid.

Turns out he doesn't actually live in this small town, he's only here for a part time job and something to do on weekends. When he's not studying music, he hangs out with his friends from university. The date went surprisingly well and Jimin forgot why he was so scared in the first place.

During lunch, he took his seat on the bleachers and stared onto the football field. Some boys were practicing for the upcoming football game, while some girls were stretching for cheerleader practice.

Jimin looked at them with a sad expression. He knew for sure he could do everything those girls could do, but he was too shy and embarrassed during the tryout. He wanted to be on that team, doing all those high flips but that wasn't how it worked.

The school and their ancient ways only let girls try out for the team. It was quite irritating to think about so Jimin pretended not to care.

"Jimin," Yoongi shook the boy's shoulders slightly, getting his attention.

Jimin pulled away from his grip, scooting away from him. "What?"

"I was talking but you weren't listening."

"As usual."

The mint haired boy sighed, running his fingers through his hair. "Look I'm sorry, I just wasn't exacting you that. Things like that don't happen here, you know how it is, people only expect the normal."

"Did you come here to make me feel bad?"

"No. I am sorry and I hope you can forgive me. I shouldn't listen to them, I shouldn't judge you."

Jimin sighed, reaching into his lunch bag and pulling out a bag of apple slices. He handed it to Yoongi who looked at him weirdly. "I can't get this open."
