Chapter Seven - Someone Get Me To A Church

The four of us gathered in a circle, we tried staying still. Vampires surrounded us, this wasn't going to end well for us. One of the vampires walked forward, he had a long black coat on. His hair spiked, the reddest eyes, and blood around his mouth.

He came towards us, stopping only feet away from me. "We know you are here, end the game and accept death."

I held my breath, I felt Wretched grab my hand tight. Either way we were going to die, so I tried something drastic.

I ran away from the group taking out some of them as I ran. "Don't move!!!" Please let them stay put ad safe. Soon all the vampires surrounded me in a tight circle. I looked behind them, the others sneaking into the bunker, getting the supplies we needed.

The one I assumed was the leader came forth and sniffed the air. "What's your name?"

"Shattered Heart and your is."

"My name is Aleck. A Killjoy, we haven't had one of you in a long time. It's mostly been weak and pathetic wastelanders, they don't put up a fight." He sniffed the air again, "I love your scent." He reached out to touch me and I slapped his hand away.

The other vampires came in closer, screeching and growling. The leader made a loud screech and the others stopped.

"You're a fighter, I like that. How about a deal? We fight, I win you become my vampire slave and if you win we'll leave you for tonight."

"Okay, deal." I power kicked him away, and our fight continued. Through the punches and kicks, I saw Party and Wretched putting things in the Trans Am. While looking at them I lost concentration and Aleck hit me hard.

I went down fast, he grabbed my hair lifting me to my feet. He brought his mouth to my ear, "end this now and become my slave."

I did something we weren't suppose to do, I used my gift. I let out a loud scream, the vampires fell to their knees in pain. Aleck fell, their eyes turned from red to pure white.

A loud roar came next to me, Tiger had transformed and was standing next to me. She nudged for me to get on her back, I did and she raced to the Trans Am.

Tiger changed back into human form and we all got into the car and drove off into the night. We needed to get back to the camp and hope the others were safe.

We sat around the fire, all of us worrying. Party, Tiger, Wretched and Shattered were not back yet and night had come already. Deathwish laid her head on me, she missed Shattered.

"They'll be okay my sweet, and then we'll tell them about the abound ones church we found." We decided to all go back and leave markings to help us remember where it was. It was safer if we all went back.

By the time we got here all the others were back with their supplies. Unbroken and Horror were sleeping next to each other, and Phoenix had his arms wrapped around Skye.

Ghoul was laying his head on Harlequin's lap, Authority and Jet were mapping out where the church might be, and Sparkling was cooking food with Relapse.

I thought about taking Phoenix and Kobra and searching for them. The night creatures would be out and I was scared they wouldn't be back. My ears pricked up when I heard the engine of the Trans Am.

We all stood up, Sparkling waking up Unbroken and Horror. The Trans Am stopped, Party and Tiger got out. "Are you guys okay?"

"We had a run in with wastelanders and vampires. Thanks to Shattered we were able to escape. She had to use her ability but I'll let it slide this time."

"Where is Shattered and Wretched?"

"They have some things to talk about, they're in the Trans Am still. Any news of a place?"

Sparkling ran over, "actually yes Party! We found an abandoned church, it has rooms and its perfect. Still in great shape."

"Perfect, what about the other supplies?"

Authority spoke up, "we have food and water. Everything has been taken care of."

Party and Tiger walked over to the fire, "I think we all should get some sleep now. With the fire the vampires should stay away. In the morning we'll head to the church."

I looked out the window, the group was heading off to bed. Time for Wretched and I to finally talk. I looked down at my boots, my hands were shaking. Wretched put his arm around my shoulder, "Shattered, what's wrong?"

"Wretched, why do you love me?"

"Because you're an amazing and strong Killjoy, you would die for you family and friends. Shattered you are beautiful and there's so many reasons why I love you."

He took my face and brought it closer to his, "Wretched, kiss me already." Our lips connected in a passionate kiss, a spark igniting between us.

I lifted off his shirt, running my hands down his stomach. He laid me down on the backseat, he looked me up and down. "So beautiful, I'm so lucky to have you as a partner."

For the first time I felt like a normal person. I felt safe in his arms and my for once my mind forgot about any feelings for Party. It was just me and him, Heart and Soul.
