Chapter Twenty Five - Innocent Like Roller Coasters

"Yes, where is Shattered?" I was starting to get worried. I had left Horror with her but someone hit him over the head, causing the gash in his head. Shattered, Wretched and Dramatic are all missing. Authority and Jet showed up with a vampire who says that someone from BLI helped them.

We ended the BLI when we killed Korse and that Japanese bitch. "Unbroken?" Horror called to me, I had been lost in my thoughts. "Are you okay?" I nodded, everyone was sitting in the main hall of the church, sitting in the pews. It's like we were waiting for something, but what?

"Well isn't this just one Hell of a party." Everyone looked forward to where Skye laid, there was Wretched and Dramatic. "Dramatic grab your girl so we can leave." Vintage who was sitting between Party and Tiger stood up and pointed.

"That's him, that's Korse, the man from BLI!" Wretched turned to see who shouted.

"Vintage, you little bitch. How are you still alive?"

Now Party stood up, "are you sure that's him?" Vintage nodded. "Wretched, where's Shattered?"

"Oh Shattered, she's joining Skye in the black parade. She is as we speak bleeding to death down in the basement. Thanks to my helper Dramatic here."

Deathwish ran to Dramatic hitting him and slapping him. "You helped him! How could you? You helped kill Shattered!" Dramatic grabbed her tight, he looked broken.

Now it was my turn to speak, "why would you do this? You loved Shattered, she was your partner."

"Why? My father and I wanted BLI to continue to grow. He told me to choose one of you Notorious Nine members, I decided on Shattered. She was strong, a fighter and beautiful. A perfect partner, but really all I needed was this." He held up a tube, "this is our child. Using BLI genetics the baby will grow in rapid speed."

His hand traced over Skye's face, Phoenix becoming angry. "You never told them, did you?"

"Tell us what?"

"Shattered and Skye were sisters, except Shattered showed more potential at a younger age. She was taken early like most of you, and given your gifts. Skye, had just recently been taken. Well I guess the family's all back together. Daddy and daughters joined together in death."

"You son of a bitch!" Harlequin shouted, Ghoul holding her tight.

"We should really be off now, but don't worry I'll send some Dracs out here soon."

"Wait!" I shouted, I just needed to know one more thing. "Dramatic, why would you betray us?"

His eyes met the floor, his grip still tight around Deathwish. "I'm sorry, I just wanted a better life for the two of us. Now I can get that with no more fear, no more running, no more death."

"Except when you don't go along with what the BLI says, they'll just torture you until you learn." Sparkling said with tears in her eyes.

"I'm sorry." The three of them headed for the front double doors. Dramatic opened them, still holding Deathwish.

Wretched turned back around, "oh hey Phoenix?" Phoenix, who's hands had become fists turned to stare at him. "I bet my dad loved every inch of your girl, did you enjoy watching him take her?" Phoenix started to run towards him, ready to attack when I felt an arm wrap around me and raygun pointed to my head.

"No, stop right there. I'll send her along with her friends of you come any closer." Crap, was I really just taken hostage? Horror moved closer to us.

"Leave her alone!" I could see the fear and sadness in his eyes.

"You know Horror, you have yourself a fine looking partner here. Now that Shattered is no longer with us, I'm going to need a wife. I think I'll just take Unbroken here." Without another word I was dragged outside where a BLI van was waiting.
