Chapter Five - Thoughts Of Endless Night Time Sky

So it's now becoming a habit of mine to storm off, what was going on inside my head? I know I was acting like a child, knew this wasn't helping the group any. I found another cozy spot and started to read more of Dr. D's journal.

Entry Two - Party has told me they are able to get my daughter, I just have to say the word. If she was to come here, she would be protected not only by me but by them.

I trust the guys with my own life, I know they would keep her safe. If she was to join us though, I don't think I will be able to tell her I'm her father......

Jet just came in and told me they have her exact location, I gave them the go. I'd rather have her here then the chance that monster finds her.

I'm going with them to pick her up, I was told she has decided to be a Killjoy. Her name is Shattered Heart, cute.

"Shattered?" I called out to her, hoping I wouldn't scare her. She seemed really into what she was reading. Her eyes finally looked up and met mine.

"Hey Dramatic."

"Can I sit by you?"

"Of course."

"So, you going to tell me what's wrong? You seem really out of it, I know you lost family but we all did. You shouldn't keep running away from us, we need each other right now. Wretched needs you."

She kept her eyes to the ground, "I guess I've screwed up."

"No, you just need to remember one thing."

"Oh yeah, what's that?"

I looked around as if I had a huge secret, then got really close to her ear. "Pew pew pew pew."

We started to laugh, she pushed me away playfully. "Dramatic, Skye is one of us. She has a gift, just like us. Also there is something out in the zones, I've only seen them at night."

"Well have you told anyone else about these things?"

"Party knows, we saw them together."

I stood up and and helped Shattered up off the ground. "Let's go tell the group the news. We have something to look out for. Some creatures of the night, boooooooo."

I noticed Shattered and Dramatic heading back. "I'll be right back Tiger." I got up and met them halfway, "Dramatic go on ahead. I need to talk to Shattered."

He gave Shattered a "good luck" look and left. Shattered crossed her arms and refused to look at me. I grabbed one of her arms and dragged her to the side.

"What the Hell is wrong with you? If you don't get your shit together you will bring down the group." I knew my grip was too tight, she winced in pain.

Shattered, being one not to take any crap, finally yanked away. "Don't ever touch me again and if you think I'm bringing down the group, maybe I should leave."

"You're suppose to help lead, the N-Nine see you as the leader. I'm just worried about you, I care about all of you."

She finally looked me in the eyes, "I don't need you to worry about me, I'm not your problem. Worry about Tiger, she's the only one you really care about."

"Is this what this is all about? Shattered, you know my heart has always been with Tiger. I do care about you, you have become my sister and I would die protecting you."

"I don't know why I still feel this way, I love Wretched, he's my partner. I just..."

She looked upset, confused and scared. I hugged her tight, "Shattered, talk to Wretched. He's there for you and loves you, so just tell him."

Shattered started to walk away, she turned back at me smiling. "We need to talk about more important things, the night creatures. They're still out there, we need to be ready."

I held onto Jet Star's hand, it had been so long since we were together. He kissed my neck, "Authority I have missed you so much. I don't ever want to lose you." Party and Shattered came back, they seemed okay.

Kobra, who was sitting alone, stood up and asked "everything okay?"

Party answered, "everything's fine, but we have news. Shattered, you saw them first, tell us what you saw."

"Dramatic and I were leaving Dr. D's when..."

"Don't forget Sheldon!" Dramatic lifted up the tiny turtle and we all laughed.

"Right! So Dramatic, Sheldon and I were leaving Dr. D's when I looked back in the rear view mirror. I saw these faces, they were pale, had bright red eyes and razor sharp teeth."

"Then a couple nights later, when I had stormed off, Shattered and I saw them again. They were fast, but they must not be able to see like humans. These creatures noticed us by our noises, when we were silent they passed by."

Sparkling stood up, "do we have any idea what these creatures are?"

Ghoul looked around, "so we take down the BLI and now we have vampires on us."

In unison the entire group shouted, "vampires?"

I looked at Shattered, her eyes shifting, she was thinking hard. Deathwish noticed too, "Shattered? What's going on?"

"I have a box from Dr. D's, he was around a lot, maybe there's some information." Shattered dropped to her knees and started searching the box.

Harlequin and Unbroken started whispering to each other. Deathwish held onto Dramatic tight. Tiger ran over to Party. Jet grabbed my hand tightly. Wretched went to talk to Kobra. Ghoul went to grab something. Sparkling started drawing on the ground. Horror and Skye were drawing out ideas. Phoenix and Relapse started to make spikes.

Everyone was frantically trying to come up with ideas, vampires, we didn't know about vampires. We all heard of them from movies and comics, but no one thought they were real. Finally Shattered jumped up excitedly.

"I found it! Dr. D started a book of all the evil and bad in Battery City. He lists where they have been seen, descriptions of them and even ways to kill them."

Party ran over to her, "does it say something about vampires?"

"Yes, there's a lot about them. They see vibrations, have red eyes and their mouths are filled with layers of sharp teeth. They're not fully blind and they burn in the sun."

Ghoul asked, "so are the movies and stuff true? Will a spike to the heart kill them?"

She read over the notes, "yes a spike into the heart or decapitation. It also says they rarely bite to change, they only want to devour."

Hearing that word, devour, I pressed my head against Jet's chest. "This is real, I can't believe it." He held me tight, I turned and saw everyone was now holding onto their partners. All except Kobra, Shattered saw this as well. She left Wretched's arms and kneeled next to Kobra.

Party sighed, "alright, so we're dealing with vamps. We will fight and we will survive. Vampires will never hurt you!"
