"Jet, they just keep coming. There's no way we can win this if we can't stop the hoard. They won't let us get close enough to Aleck."

"I know, there's too many of them. Watch which direction they come from, I'm going to grab the zone map." He ran to the side of the church where we had a backpack, it had maps and other supplies. I watched the skies and saw where they were coming from.

Jet ran back to me, "okay which direction?" I looked at the map and pointed. "So, the only place they could be hiding in is this cave here."

"We have to go and see if we can't stop them from coming. Somehow block off the entrance or something." Jet grabbed the backpack, which had several spikes in it and we left. It wasn't too far away, I just hoped what we were doing was right.

We were leaving our group, leaving them to defend themselves. If anything happened while we were away I would never forgive myself for it. Using the maps and our expertise we found the cave. Vampires were pouring out in little spurts. When it came to a break we ran inside.

This cave was huge, we found a room with cages, a table and chains. Blood was everywhere, I noticed a purple cloth on the floor inside the cage. "Shattered." This is where he kept them, this was their blood.

"Unbroken will save her, we'll get both Phoenix and Shattered to safety." Jet helped me train with my ability, we found out I could touch objects and see what happened. He joked with me saying I would have made a great detective.

I touched the table, a vision of Aleck on top of Shattered appeared. His voice rang out in my vision. "You'll be mine soon enough." He then placed his hand on her stomach, "this will be mine too."

"Authority, what did you see?" I shook my head not knowing exactly.

"We need to move." We continued to walk around, a loud humming started. "What is that sound?" There was a door, Jet opened it up and what we saw was unbelievable. Machines were producing vampires, "what is this?"

"I don't know but we need to shut it down now." He started looking for a switch or someway to stop it. This was causing all the vampires, I doubted the vamps came up with this themselves. "I found it!" I ran to Jet, he was seated t a giant computer.

He was typing fast, trying to break into the system. "This might take a second. Keep watch and take the spikes." We kissed before I let him continue. I started looking around the room, I found a manual type booklet.

On the cover, three words appeared in big bold letters. My heart sank, how was this possible? I was right about the vampires not creating the machine. They were no more, so how could this have happened? I reread and reread the three words. "Better Living Industries."

-------------------------------------------------------

There has to be a main control to shit off this machine. The room wasn't big so it should be easy to find, which it was. Too easy actually, it was a giant computer with a keyboard. My expertise was on intelligence so this should be a piece of cake.

I started typing, "I found it!" Authority made her way to me, I was trying to crack the code to enter the system to shut it all down. Authority was to be a look out, she was quick and knew she would be able to handle herself. My fingers were moving faster then I thought possible.

My ears twitched at a sound next to me, I acted like I didn't hear anything. Slowly I move one hand down to my holster, preparing my raygun but never taking my eyes off the screen. In the corner of my eye I noticed the figure getting closer, I shot up quickly slamming whatever into the wall.

I pressed the raygun to its head but before I could shoot a voice pleaded. "Please don't shoot, I'm not here to hurt you." Authority found the lights and turned them on, now I could see who was in front of me. It was a girl, she gas to have been only a couple years younger then Sparkling. It didn't look like she was going to try anything so I let her go.

"What's your name?" Authority asked her in a gentle voice.

"Vintage Vampire, and I can help you shut this down." I finally replaced my raygun into its holster. I nodded an let her sit, she started typing and within seconds got us in.

I took over, finding the system shut down and proceeding. The system turned off, everything was silent and the vampires stopped. "How long have you been a prisoner?"

"I'm not a prisoner, I'm a vampire." A vampire? Authority pulled out a spike and readied herself. "Please don't kill me, I may be a vampire but I'm not like them. I hate killing innocents, I've tried I runaway but they just keep finding me and bringing me back."

"Authority, put it away. I believe her, she helped us turn the machine off. She's not like them, I think we can trust her."

"Alright Vintage, tell me where you got this machine. How did you get this from the BLI?" She held up the manual for the machine and the BLI logo printed clearly on it.

"A man from the BLI, he came to us with a deal. He provided the machine, saying it would help us win the fight and kill all of the Killjoys. There was only one condition, the girl Shattered, was not to be harmed."

"It was all a trap, Aleck was never going to bite Shattered. We need to get back there now, Vintage come with us." We left the cave and ran back to the fight, hoping we weren't too late."
