I sighed and leaned against the side of the school building, closing my eyes.
Chase would be here in a few minutes, and I was definitely not looking forward to it. I would have just ignored him and went ahead and gone home, but I know that would just make the situation worse. A lot worse.
"I'm getting sick of your attitude, Isobel. I give you love, and I buy you things. I'm the only one who wan't you, and you treat me like this?"
I gasped and looked to my right, biting my lip nervously. He looked really pissed. Like as pissed as one can get.. Like as pissed as an angry shark that got punched in the face by a shovel. That pissed, I kid you not.
"I didn't do anything wrong. I'm not sure what your talking about. What did I supposedly do to you?" I rolled my eyes and crossed my eyes.
I was getting really sick of this guy. I was tired of being afraid to walk into school. I was tired of flinching from guys when they got too close. I was tired of being tired.
His nostrils flared and his eyes seemed to get darker. "You little bitch!" His hand flew up, and it quickly came back down.
My head snapped to the side as a muffled squeal left my lips. I brought my hand up to cup my cheek and winced slightly. There was already a bruise there, and I knew it would turn it darker.
"Chase, please stop! I'm sorry, just please stop! I won't do it again, I swear!" I pleaded, not knowing if I could take one of his serious beatings today.
He brought his hand up and roughly grabbed onto my hair, pulling it back. My head hit the wall with a loud thud. He covered my mouth as a muffled scream left my lips.
He pulled my hair again, making my head jerk forward, only to bring it back to the wall. Black dots flew across my vision, and my head really hurt.
He let me go, making me slide down the wall. I whimpered and brought my hand back, holding onto the back of my head.
Chase brought his foot back and kicked me in the side, spit on the floor by me, then walked off.
I groaned, trying to keep the tears in my eyes from falling. I took a deep breath and picked myself up, slowly taking a step forward. I was dizzy, but it wasn't too bad. I could see straight enough to walk home, I mean, I had walked home in much worse.
I peaked around the corner, making sure not too many people were outside. It was about three-thirty now, so not too many people would still be here.
I quickly walked from behind the building, dragging myself in the direction of my house.
Hayden's POV
I started my motorcycle and quickly took off, wanting to get away from this hell hole.
I stopped at the stop light and pulled my helmet over my head, making sure it was on right. I started my bike again and rode down the hidden path to get to my house.
I knew I needed to make some free time to get to know Isobel, but truth be told.. I just really didn't want to.
Don't get me wrong, she seemed like a nice girl. But that was the problem; she was a little too preppy.. A little too nice.
I shook my head, focusing back on the road. I looked over to the side, and saw a heap on the ground. I quickly turned my bike around and went back to it, stopping my motorcycle and kicking the stand down. I took off my helmet and placed it on my seat and scrunched my eyebrows together.
I slowly walked over to it, knowing I was probably stupid for doing this.
But when I got closer, I recognized Isobel. She was sitting in the grass, picking at the frass slightly.
"Isobel?"
She kept picking at the grass, keeping her gaze on the ground. I slowly walked to the side of here, unsure of what was going on here.
I sat down and waved my hand in front of her face. "Hey, Isobel? You okay there?"
Why did I even care?.. Maybe I didn't. I guess I was just trying to make sure she was okay so I could get a good grade on this project.
She gasped and looked up at me, eyes still a bit dazed. "Oh, I'm sorry!.. How did you get here?" She tilted her head to the side, looking around slightly.
I chuckled and shook my head. "This is the way I usually take to get home... What about you? Why were you just sitting here?.. You okay?" I grumbled the last part out, looking away from here.
"Oh.. My house is just up the road.. I just wasn't feeling that great, so I took a little break. I'm fine though, thanks for asking."
I turned back to her and studied her face, squinting my eyes slightly. "Okay. That's a bruise, there's no doubting it." I raised an eyebrow.
She bit her lip lightly and looked back to the ground, picking at the grass again. "Yea.. I-I um.. I fell in gym class. Cause you know, it happens sometimes. And people can't help that, right? Right. I'm just clumsy. Like, this one time I was walking to the bathroom, and it's only a few steps away from my bed, but me being me, I tripped over air and almost broke my arm. It's funny really, how clumsy I am sometimes. It's horrible though, I don't know why I'm like that, I just am, and-"
I cut her off, my eye twitching. "You talk way too much."
She blushed and looked up at me. "Sorry.. I rant a lot.." She trailed off, laughing slightly.
I looked back to my motorcycle before giving her a nod towards it. "You want a ride?"
She looked at it nervously before nodding once and standing up. I saw her wince slightly, and her hand went up to her side before falling again. She brought her hand up to her head and rubbed it, making her wince.
"Are you sure your alright?" I asked, standing up.
She nodded and swallowed hard before bringing her hand down. She smiled at me and walked over to my bike.
I shook my head and heaved a sigh before I made my way to it as well. I pulled on my helmet and got on. I motioned for her to swing her leg over, which she managed to do after a few tries. She quickly grabbed onto my shoulders after she did.
"We aren't moving yet, you know." I chuckled out, rolling my eyes. "And you'd probably wanna put your arms around my waist. Unless, you know, you wanna fall off."
She quickly brought her hands away from my shoulders and hesitantly slid her arms around my waist. She made it to where she was barley touching me.
I shrugged and stared it up, kicking the stand up. I took off, going a little slower for her sake.
She had brought her arms around me tighter, holding on for dear life.
I knew where her house was, because I passed it often, and it's where she said hers was. I pulled up to it and kicked the stand back down, hopping off.
I laughed as she held onto the seat, whimpering.
"Oh c'mon you big baby. Get off, I gotta get home." I pulled her up and helped her off. I then got back on and sighed.
"When do you wanna meet next for our project?" She asked, rubbing her neck slightly.
"How about tomorrow? I should be free then."
She nodded and smiled. "Just come by whenever, I guess. I'm free all day."
I nodded once in response and kicked the stand up, taking off.
