"Alright, class. Today I would like to know how far you and your partners have gotten on the project. I will call you up by groups, and all you need to do is tell me which part your at. There will be the first part, which is just getting to know each other. Then the second part, which is the photo taking and getting the pictures in order. Then there's the third part, which is almost having everything done. The pictures are all printed out, you have the cardboard and know what your going to put for each of the pictures. Though I doubt any of you have gotten to the third part, I'm sure most of you have at least gotten to the second. You can take a few minutes to figure out which part your at, and I'll start calling you up in about five minutes." Ms. Casey said.

"Oh, and one more thing. Dream as if you'll live forever, and live as if you'll die tomorrow." She smiled and sat down, looking through paper work.

I nervously got up and walked over to Hayden with my head down.

I had chosen a seat as far away from him as possible, but it seemed as if the world had other ideas.

I sat down next to him, keeping my eyes on the desk as I thought over Ms. Casey's quote of the day.

I needed to start doing that.. I was constantly living in fear of Chase going too far, or of my mom not coming home and deciding that it just wasn't worth the long hours anymore to take care of me.

I heard a grunt from Hayden and looked up at him. He was already staring straight at me, and I tried my best to keep eye contact.

"So.. Er.. We're on the second part, right?" I asked, looking away at the last second, focusing on his shirt.

"Yea."

I sighed and closed my eyes, resting my head on the table.

I couldn't get that stupid kiss out of my mind.. I've never felt those sparks with Chase, or any other guy for that matter..

I heard Hayden sigh and scoot closer to me from his chair.

"Did he do anything after you left with him?" He whispered.

I closed my eyes tightly, remembering the the new bruise that would cover my side. His kicks were getting more powerful.

I looked up at him and slowly shook my head. "No.. I er.. He um.. He took me out for.. I-Ice cream. He has his sweet moments."

He raised an eyebrow. "Ice cream, huh? So you left the school, got ice cream, then returned in under three minutes? Impressive." He sarcastically ended with an eye roll.

I shrugged and doodled on the desk with my pencil, biting my lip.

You could cut the tension between us with a knife. A big, sharp knife.

"And then the last group, Hayden Arcane, and Isobel Loving."

I hadn't even noticed she was calling people..

I sighed and got up and followed behind Hayden.

"Where would you guys say you were at in the project?"

"In the middle of the first and second part. Leaning more into the second part though." Hayden answered.

She smiled and nodded, motioning for us to go back to our seats as she wrote something down.

We sat down, and I could feel him staring at me.

"What?" I mumbled, blushing lightly.

"Nothing" He murmured back, looking away.

I bit my lip and bobbed my leg up and down at the awkwardness.

God, was it getting hotter in here?
