I don't know if you like listening to music while you read. If you do, there is a song I think fits the mood of this chapter pretty well... sooo if you want to you can listen to it:

Hiyori woke up from a tickling sensation on her stomach. Something felt cold and wet, also giving up a strange smell.

"Shh, you are going to wake her up! Be quiet!", she could make out Tsuki's voice whispering.

"Then move, I can't do this if you are in my way", Yukine responded.

"You two keep it down! You are going to ruin our surprise!", Yato lectured them.

What were all of them doing in her and Yato's bedroom?

The light in the room was dim but also managed to give her a hard time getting used to it as she slowly opened her eyes.

Everything she saw was blurry but she could clearly make out Tsuki and Yukine standing beside her on the left and Yato leaning over her from the right side. All of them seemed to be concentrating on the area on her belly that was, much to her surprise, not covered by the blanket.

"W-What are you guys doing?", she asked drowsily, sitting up slowly.

"No! No no no! Don't move, you'll make it all blurry, it hasn't dried yet!", Tsuki said hectically, pushing her mother softly back on the bed.

"What are you talking about? It's way too early for you to be pulling stupid jokes!", she said starting to get annoyed.

"Well, w-we were working on a little surprise for you", Yato finally explained and held a small mirror in front of Hiyori so she could see what they had done.

Where she had expected to see her scar, she now saw little flowers drawn all over the destroyed parts of skin. Nothing reminding her of the scar was shining through between the blue, pink, purple and orange colored blossoms.

Above the sea of flowers she could look into the faces of Yato, Tsuki, Yukine and herself, smiling warmly.

The way it was drawn, so beautifully and detailed, it could only have been Yato.

Her expression was hard to read for her loved ones. She was surprised but if it was in a good or a bad way, that was something they couldn't tell.

"I-It was Yato's idea!", Yukine said panicking, "H-He woke us up and told us to do this."

"W-We are sorry if you don't like it!", Tsuki apologized.

Hiyori's eyes filled with tears as she said: "You don't have to apologize! T-This is beautiful! I love it!"

After that sentence, she couldn't hold back her tears anymore. She couldn't find words that would be able to explain how happy she was. So many warm feelings were spreading inside of her. Feelings that she never had felt when she was looking at or even thinking about her scar.

Until now it was a reminder of a time when she had felt so much pain.

Pain that she thought would never leave.

The troublesome pregnancy as well as the disprized behavior towards her because of the fact that she got pregnant at the age of eighteen years and raising her daughter without ever saying a word about the father.

Even her parents had been angry at first. Angry that Hiyori didn't tell them who Tsuki's father was as well as the fact that she had been in a relationship without telling them a single thing about it.
