"I'll be right back. Lock the doors." My mom shut the car door, heading towards a corner store to buy her same old pack of cigarettes to relieve herself. I quickly glanced down to find my phone screen light up, notifying me that my friend Delphinia was calling me.
"What is it Delphi?" I answered, slightly annoyed by the fact that she sometimes calls me for no reason, knowing for a fact that I HATE talking to people over the phone. I'm more of a texting type of person.
"Wow you actually answered." Delphi snorted, immediately triggering me.
"I'm going to hang up on you if yo-"
"Calm your ass cheeks, I actually called you to ask you a question."
"I swear if you ask me about which remedy is the best to clear up vagina rashes I'll-"
"Okay okay okay I actually have something." She interrupted me. "Do you want to go rollerskating or something?"
I blew a piece of hair out of my face and answered. "Why not? I mean I'm already out, I can just go right now."
"Great. See you at my house." The call ended, and I watched as my mom entered the car again, a cigarette hanging from her mouth.
"Bring me to Delphinia's house." I told her as soon as she started up her car again. Without even questioning it, she just brought me to her house.
Since my dad left my family a few years ago, my mom really has been out of it. She especially changed when my younger sister got diagnosed with some cancer a few months ago. That's when she started drinking and smoking and becoming a bit more careless about whatever me and my twin brother do.
We're fraternal twins actually, since we are of the opposite gender. However we do have some resemblance. The same brown hair, the same blue-ish grey eyes, the same pale skin. A lot of people mistaken us for each other once in a while, which makes absolutely no sense. But, it's all good.
"Be safe. Stay away from cute boys blah blah blah." My mom spoke as I jumped out of the car, heading towards Delphi's front door.
My knuckle hit the door a few times before her older brother opened the door, holding an bottle of alcohol in his hand. His jet black hair was a mess and I couldn't help but notice that he was shirtless. I tried to keep my eyes from examining his body since he is my best friend's brother and that'd just be weird.
He didn't really bother to say anything. I walked past him and headed upstairs to find Delphi. She was laying down on her bright pastel pink covered bed on her stomach scrolling through instagram or whatever.
"You ready?" I spoke, causing her to jump at the sound of my voice.
"Damn you're fast." She said, beginning to throw on her jacket.
"Well I mean my mom really couldn't give two shits so." We headed out the door and to her car.
Once we got all settled inside her car and drove off, I noticed how late it was. I mean sure, it's only 9, but by the time we get out of that place it'll be like almost midnight.
