Chapter V

"Daaamn." Vanessa cooed as Anthony and I stepped out of my mom's car.

"Be safe." she said as she drove off.

Standing in front of us was Vanessa and the whole gang. Tonight was going to be so much fun. Just being around friends makes everything more enjoyable.

"Well let's go." Carson said, gesturing his hand towards his truck. In the back was where everyone sat.

Anthony and I hopped in. I took a seat in between Delphi and Vanessa. Sitting next to Vanessa was Ansley.

All of the boys were practically wearing the same thing. Some random color joggers, the same style t-shirt. Some were wearing caps.

Today I decided to go with some sort of tumblr look, and I wore black ripped skinny jeans with a grey tee, and a black and red flannel tied around my waist. Oh and also converse for shoes, and a black cap put on my head backwards because I'm "2 edgy."

I'm sorry.

Delphi was wearing a pastel pink long sleeved shirt with blue jeans.

Vanessa was wearing heels, for whatever reason, white jeggings and a nicely fitted black sweatshirt. She was so stylish and her makeup was perfect.

"Ah tonight is gonna be so much fun." Carson gasped as he started to drive off.

"What is this fair about anyway?" I asked.

"Well there are lots of your usual carnival games, lots of rides, and lots of people." Leo explained.

"Yeah I heard this is supposed to be one of the biggest fairs of the year." Owen added.

"I've never heard of it." I sat back.

"We must have ride buddies." Owen said. "Leo, you assign ride buddies."

"Okay, is there anyone that does not want to go on any rides?" Leo questioned.

Nobody said anything.

"Okay so the the partners will be: Link and Bradley, Ansley and I, Owen and Carson, Maeve and Vanessa, and finally Anthony and Delphi." Leo announced.

"Ew not Maeve's brother!" Delphi hissed, receiving a glare from Anthony.

I threw Anthony a teasing wink and let out a small laugh.

"We have to go on the zipper!" Owen said.

"Yeah definitely." Bradley added. "What do you think?" he nudged Link's elbow.

I looked over and examined Link. His eyes were a warm amber color, and his hair was darker than mine, and it was practically the same color as Bradley's.

"I guess." he answered, clearing his throat.

"Maybe there'll be some cute girls there too." Carson popped in.

"You little man whore!" Ansley hissed.

"Calm down." Leo placed his hand gently onto his girlfriend's thigh.

"You know, I don't understand why you can't just let me-" her mouth was covered by Leo, who was clearly growing annoyed. Hmm, did this happen frequently?

The rest of the ride to the fair went by pretty quickly. Some people talked, some people went on their phones, Delphi slept, and I looked at the gorgeous view the whole time. I watched as the sun slowly began to move down across the sky. It was about an hour before sunset.

Once we reached the fair grounds, I was greeted by the smell of hamburgers and cow shit. Wonderful.

The atmosphere was nice and cool. The lights on the rides and around the tents were lit up already. From the parking lot I could hear the screams coming from young girls and the shouting coming from the people that owned each tent. They called out "1 ball for $5! 2 balls for $10!" and other random nonsense.
