(Crush x Reader Fantasy AU)
You loved watching the night sky. Seeing the stars slowly come out the moment darkness filled the sky was a beautiful thing. There was nothing more magical than seeing the stars twinkling in the sky like little jewels. They reminded you of the potential that the world had and let you hold onto the belief that something wonderful would happen one day.
You just didn't expect that one day to be today.

You weren't sure how you managed to get the fancy lamp, but somehow you had found it while digging through some boxes of old stuff. Carefully tracing the design on the side, you saw a smudge and it reminded you of genies residing within lamps like the one you had.

"I wonder if a genie would appear if I rubbed it," you contemplated, staring at the golden coloured lamp in your hands. Why not take the chance to see if this was a magic lamp? Taking the chance and cleaning it off, you waited for something to happen. Frowning at it merely sparkling, you let out a sigh and set it down.

Unexpectedly, there was a burst of smoke that filled the room.
"What the -" You coughed, waving away the gas that misted over your vision. "What's going on?"
Once it cleared, the sight was more startling than the smoke. A guy that looked around your age stood nearby, you would've thought he was the rumored genie if it weren't for the clothes he was wearing; he looked more like someone you might have known from school. Overall, he was very handsome and made your heart pick up its pace.

"Who are you?" you demanded, standing up to look him in his beautiful (E/C) eyes. This was no time to get distracted by his charming good looks! Crossing your arms, you hoped you would be able to get an answer from this stranger. "And how did you get here?"

He looked at you, giving you a once over. As if he deemed you not dangerous, he leaned in closer, giving you a smile that sent your heart fluttering and said, "My name is (C/N), I'm the genie from inside the lamp you just cleaned. What's your name?"
Jaw dropping open, you weren't able to find the words to say. "I'm (Y/N)."

"Your surprised expression is rather cute, (Y/N)," he said, sending your cheeks to flare up. He casually walked around to look around your living room before sitting down on the sofa. "I should probably explain what I'm here for. Since you cleaned my lamp I can grant you three wishes, with some exceptions like no wishing for more wishes and other over drastic things. Your wish is my command."

"You're real then," you muttered under your breath, finally being able to recollect your thoughts. Moving over to sit next to him, you sent him a suspicious look. "You won't manipulate my wishes, right? I thought genies were mischievous and liked to mess with people."

He rolled his eyes, but reached over and gave your hands a squeeze. "I promise, I won't. You seem like a nice person, so as long as I like you, I won't do anything underhanded." He glanced around, then asked, "Do you mind me staying out here with you? I don't want to go back into my lamp after being stuck in there for so long."

You bit your lip, wondering how much trust you could put into this magical being. Sure, he was charming and super cute, but... was it a good idea to have him around?

"Do you mind sleeping on the couch?" you found yourself asking him. "I don't know if its better than your lamp, but your welcome to stay out here with me while I decide on my wishes."

Flashing you his perfect smile, you found yourself asking him what he wanted for dinner. Having three wishes with very few limitations was going to take time to figure out, so might as well get use to his company.
...
After a week of spending almost all your time being around with (C/N), you knew for sure that you were falling for him hard. Despite spending most of your time with each other, every second was fun and memorable for the both of you. He seemed to enjoy your company as much as you liked having him around.

Even though it had only been a week, you had already used up two out of three wishes. The first one had been to stop an accident from happening to a little boy and the second was to make your friend's birthday better after a bad breakup. True to his word, (C/N) had not made any ulterior motives when granting your wishes. In fact, he made things better no matter the situation.

Being down to only one wish, you weren't sure what to do with it.
Seeing it was a rainy day, you decided to hang out at home with (C/N), simply talking to each other.
"So what's going to happen to you when I use up my last wish?" you asked curiously, casually leaning against the back of your sofa to watch him rummaging your cupboards in the kitchen for snacks. "I have some of your favourite cookies in the top shelf."

Seeing him immediately reach up for them, you quietly giggled. At least this meant you understood who he was, always a great start to a relationship.

"Thanks," (C/N) said as he munched on a cookie. He moved over to join you at the sofa, offering one to you. "I go back into the lamp. I don't really have a choice."

You could hear the sad tone resonating from his voice. He had mentioned to you before how he didn't like being cooped up in there, seeing the only chances of freedom he had were to only grant wishes. You weren't aware of it, but (C/N) would admit that this week with you had been the best of life. Being able to meet you and hang out with your friends, the opportunity to be someone normal was more than he could have ever hoped for.

"Whoever ends up with the lamp next will get three wishes like you do, although I think you're one of a kind," he added. A bittersweet pained smile flashed across his face. "I don't have any control over what happens except for granting wishes, but if I could I would love to spend more time with you."

Your heart fluttered at his indirect confession. Hoping for the best, you looked into his (E/C) eyes and said, "I like spending time with you, too, (C/N). Truth is... I love you."

You nervously watched as his eyes widened, before he pulled you into a warm hug. His scent washed over you, comfortingly as he murmured, "I love you, too."

A plan began to spin itself within your head, quickly formulating. You still had one last wish. One wish to make a difference, and do something selfish for once.

"Hey, (C/N), I know what I want as my last wish."
His eyes were sad, probably him assuming that your time together had run out. It hurt you to see him so down.
"Alright, (Y/N). What's your wish?"

"I wish that you, (C/N), would be freed from being a genie confined to his lamp and be able to live the rest of your life with me." You clenched your fists in your lap and squeezed your eyes shut. Out of all your wishes, you hoped this one would come true the most. Looking up at (C/N), you saw his eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Your wish is my command," he declared.

With a snap of his fingers and a cloud of smoke, nothing appeared different. (C/N) as grinning, obviously something had changed unknown to you, but he was happy with your wish as he immediately rushed towards you with a kiss. Returning it with all of your emotions for him, you couldn't help but smile even when it ended.

"Out of all the wishes I've ever granted, I think that one was the best." (C/N) whispered, pressing another kiss to your forehead before leaning his against yours. "You didn't need to ask for that second part, I would've grant it for you anytime. I would grant any of your wishes."

You just smiled, pulling him in for another kiss as the rain began to stop. A week ago, you never would've thought things would end up like this. It didn't seem to matter what you made a wish on, but...
Wishes did come true.
