Caught in the Rain (Crush x Reader)

It was pouring out.

As usual, you had been caught out in the rain unprepared on your way home from school. Just your luck. Now being stuck at a bus shelter, trying to stay dry.

Pulling out your phone, you looked at your contacts hoping to find someone who you could call to pick you up. Just as you were scrolling down, a voice interrupted the silence.
"You know you can call me anytime if you need help."
You jumped, hearing the voice of your crush, (C/N). Sitting in a car stopped in front of you, he flashed you his charming smile.

"(C/N)!" you exclaimed, pressing a hand to your heart. "You scared me. Besides, I don't have your number."
"Sorry, I didn't mean to," he replied, using his free hand and rubbing the back his neck. "Forgot your umbrella?"
"Yeah," you said with a nod, trying to act casual.

"I rushed out this morning, I'm usually more prepared."
"Are you going home?" he asked. "I can drive you if you want."
You hesitated, not sure what to say. You would love to spend more time with (C/N), but you didn't want to burden him.

"Are you sure?" you asked. "I don't want to bother you..."
He shook his head. "Not at all, I'd be happy to drive you home."
Quickly getting into the passenger seat, you brushed off the few stray raindrops on your clothes. At first, you two sat in silence, you being too shy to say anything but you knew you should say something to make things less awkward.

Luckily before you had the chance, (C/N) said something first.
"So how was your day?"
"Good, I guess. How about you?"
Soon, you were both chatting easily about things and arrived at your house. You had enjoyed being with (C/N) so much, it saddened you that you had to leave.

"Looks like this is my stop," you said, getting ready to get out. "Thanks for the ride."
"(Y/N), wait."
You froze, hearing his words.

"Can I borrow your phone?" he asked. When you handed it over, he typed in something before handing it back. "Feel free to call me whenever, okay?"
You nodded eagerly, smiling. "Okay. Thanks, again!"
Getting out of his car and walking back into your house, not long after that, you received a message from him.

'I'm glad we were able to talk today. I guess you being caught in the rain made it my lucky day! :)'
