I got home from work and walked into my room to see a familiar face on my bed. My best friend from uni when I actually attended a school, Michael, was smiling widely.

"Mikey?" I smiled, and he held his arms out.

"We haven't seen each other in so long I pulled some strings with Leo, and here I am," Mikey chuckled, getting up from my bed.

I quickly rushed into his arms, hugging him tightly. "I- I can't believe you're here," I laughed.

"Well I am, and we are going to tear up this town together!" Mikey exclaimed.

I bit my lip, not wanting to go out. "Mikey, I love you, I really do, but I don't exactly want to go out tonight," I stated.

"That's fine," Mikey smiled. "We can just stay in and drink."

I sighed out of relief, and Mikey tilted his head. "You seem a bit... distracted."

I nodded, looking back up at Mikey, "I actually had plans with my boyfriend, tonight."

Mikey's eyes widened, "Your boyfriend?"

"Yeah, Matty," I nodded, my eyes going to my feet.

"Oh."

I looked back up at Mikey. "I- I'm confused here," he admitted. "We had a somewhat romantic relationship and we hooked up once... I came here to confess my love to you."

My face turned pink, "Your love?"

"Yeah! I've always liked you! I travelled two hours to visit you here, in London, and you tell me you have a boyfriend? Sari, I can't believe I even thought to come here, I should've known you would've moved on!" Mikey yelled.

"Mikey-"

"Shut your slutty mouth up," Mikey spat before I felt a sharp pain on my cheek.

I immediately held onto my cheek, feeling it tingle from the pressure just put onto it... Mikey had slapped me. The only time I have ever been slapped was in year six and now. Why must I repeat that experience?

"Are you fucking kidding me!" I pushed Mikey back onto the wall, obviously hurting him during the process. I won't stand for someone to treat me like a pet. "You show up without my obligation and come to just tell me, 'hey! it's been four years since I last saw you and I want to date you!' and you expect me to fall head over heels for you?!"

Mikey's eyes widened. "And if you had the right to call me a slut then I'd take it. Meanwhile, in college, you had girls over every weekend! You would blow me off for some platinum blonde with black eyeshadow poorly done!" I shouted. "So how about you prance your tight stuck up ass out and go back home, how does that sound Michael?"

Mikey pushed passed me, leaving. I followed Mikey to the door and when he opened it I saw Matty on the stairs, confused. "Who's that?" Matty asked.

"My friend from college who came here to screw me and confess how much he loves me, who called me a slut," I answered.

Matty turned to Michael, "Hey!" Matty grabbed Mikey's attention. "What the fuck is wrong with you, may I ask."

"What the fuck is wrong with me? Who are you?" Michael responded.

"Sarilynn's boyfriend," Matty replied. "She clearly didn't ask you to come by, and being pissed off when she rejects you shouldn't be a surprise."

"Listen, 'Matty,' I would've asked you to try and make me want to punch a wall, I would have. But I didn't, so if you could fuck off, that'd be great," Michael replied.

"Oh, I swear-" Matty began to walk down the stairs, but I grabbed him, pulling him back.

"Matty, stop," I whispered.

Matty glared at Michael for a minute or so, but then Michael walked away and Matty turned to me. "He's a dick, why were you friends with him?" Matty began.

"I don't know," I shrugged. "Come on."

I grabbed Matty's hand to make sure he would make it inside my apartment. Once I closed the door and turned to Matty I couldn't help but smile. "What?" Matty questioned.

"People are intimidated by you, but I think you're plain adorable, especially then," I answered.

"I'm not adorable," Matty smiled, stepping towards me. Matty stood right in front of me, "I'm a man, I am intimidating and I will fight. I will be a badass and disappoint my mum."

"Sure," I laughed, kissing his nose. "Keep telling yourself that."

As I turned to walk away, Matty grabbed me by my waist, kissing my cheek. "I'm overwhelmed that you reacted that way towards Michael, I don't know... I've never really had someone who stood up for themselves that much."

I smiled, turning to face Matty. "I wasn't going to let him say that to me, although I do do things that I probably shouldn't, cheating isn't one of them."

Matty put his hand on my cheek, "Your cheek is red... did he slap you?"

I looked down at Matty's shirt and nodded, and Matty shook his head. "He's lucky he's gone because if he was still here he'd be on the floor crying about my shoe being up his ass," Matty's eyes squinted, I laughed.

Matty pulled me into a hug, his head on top of mine. I took a deep breath, enjoying the feeling of Matty's arms. "Why didn't you want to tell me about your parents?" Matty whispered.

"Whenever I tell people that right away they mostly define me by that," I paused. "For the past years I've been holding it in from people just so they don't feel like they have to be sympathetic towards me."

Matty nodded, rubbing my back. "My mum told me after you left that you were the first girl she ever met and liked."

I smiled, shaking my head, "I doubt that."

Matty chuckled, "I agree with her." I smiled into Matty's chest, smelling in the aroma of his cologne mixed with the smell of weed.

"And you're studying to become a pediatrician, I wasn't expecting that," Matty laughed. "I knew you were going to become a doctor, but not that kind."

"Do you have a problem with my dreams, Healy?" I laughed.

"Absolutely not, I think it fits you."
