From what I could hear and feel, Luke struggled a lot to climb his way back up. I wasn't exactly the lightest girl, too. When we made it to the top, we lay there for a minute. I know I didn't do any of the climbing, but I never got the hang of the monkey bars, so hanging on wasn't the easiest thing to do. Plus, that was scary.
After a while, I sat up and I hit Luke on the stomach.
"Luke, get up! Remember Joel? The guy must've taken him!"
"How are we supposed to catch up with him after all of this time?" he said with his hand on his stomach.
"If we can find out what the tracking device was on, maybe we can find it?"
"How will we know?"
"Well, it couldn't have been on any of his clothes, because he changes. It can't be his Priceless bracelet because he eventually gives it away during every concert. It couldn't've been his necklace because that would be too obvious. So my best guess is that it was on his earrings. He was taking them off before the guy came, so he must only have one on now. If we can find the other earring, I can do some techy stuff with my phone, and we can use it to track the other earring."
"You think it'll work?"
"More than I think doing nothing will."
"Okay, well where are we going to look for the other earring?"
"On the floor." I shrugged my shoulders.
We searched the floor for a while, and I found some pretty cool rocks to pelt things with. Nice and sharp. But I didn't find Joel's earring. Luke didn't either.
This was really stressing me out. Luke huffed and ran his fingers through his hair, then stopped. He started trying to take something out of his hair.
"What is it?"
"A rock or something."
After Luke got it out, he stared at it. It was Joel's earring. I laughed a little.
"I know how you feel," I said, tugging at my hair "Things always getting into your hair."
"It must've fallen when I jumped off of the cliff," he said, surprised.
"Keep searching, maybe you'll find a map in there," I joked.
I grabbed my phone out of my bag and pried it open. I powered it on at the same time.
"When I open Maps and enter something for it to search for, it won't work," I explained "But it'll help me identify the wire that powers the GPS system." After I found the wire, I turned to Luke.
"Found the tracking device?"
"Yeah, I'm trying to keep track of it. It's so small."
He gave me the earring and I hooked it up. I closed the phone, and the phone started doing weird stuff.
"What is it doing?" Luke asked.
"Something that I hope will be useful."
Then, it started giving me directions to somewhere. Wherever it was, it was moving.
"It worked!" I exclaimed "Now I can see where they're going."
"How did you do that?"
"One of my many talents includes technology. I just started learning about tracking systems before I got lost. I left the book at home, but at least I remembered something."
"It's very useful, but we'll never catch them."
"Oh, yeah, I have an early birthday present for you."
"My birthday isn't until late October!"
"I know, I know, October 22nd, blah blah. Happy birthday." I handed him a bike.
"Where did you get this?"
"I found it. I've been fixing it up. I didn't want to show you guys because I only found one."
"How did you carry it all of this time?"
"I tricked it out so I can fold it like a folding chair. I tricked my bike out too. It isn't electronic, but it's better than a normal bike. And, look, there are baskets for our stuff."
We loaded the baskets, and I put my cat in the one I put at the front. I strapped him in.
"You have a seat belt for your cat?"
"Yup. Problem?"
"Nope. Let's just find Joel."
We rode our bikes for what felt like ages. And not to mention that I was still sore. And my stomach was also killing me. But I had to act like I was okay, otherwise Luke would make us stop.
Finally, we caught up with him. He was driving a truck. I couldn't see Joel from where I was, but the GPS said that he was there.
Eventually, the car came to a halt in front of an abandoned cabin. I couldn't see too well from the bushes I was hiding in, but I did see him carry a seemingly lifeless body that was obviously Joel into the cabin.
I looked at Luke and bit my lip, trying to communicate with him through face expressions. This is how I saw the conversation:
Me: Okay, we know Joel's here, now what?
Luke: I don't know, I thought you had a plan.
Me: I honestly didn't think we'd get this far.
Luke: Maybe we could just go in there and fight him for Joel.
Me: We don't have anything but this knife and a couple of pelting rocks. Who knows what kinds of weapons he has in there?
Luke: Chicken nuggets.
Me: What?
Luke: Sorry, I'm getting hungry. Got any more McDonald's crackers?
Me: Yeah, but we have to save them. We only have a little left.
After a while of that conversation, I realised that we were getting off track. I looked back to the house. He had already went in.
"Alright," the guy's loud voice said "I could only get one of them. The other jumped off of the cliff."
"Then what's the point of having Joel?" a girl's voice said "It's not for KING & COUNTRY without both of them."
"And the rest of the band," I whispered "What type of for KING & COUNTRY fan only knows Joel and Luke?"
"If you want, I'll kill him," the guy said.
"Wait. Give it time. Luke will come for his brother. I need them both," she said "Then, you can do whatever you want with them."

No!! I hope Joel's gonna be okay!
