The Santa Claus you know isn't real, more of a made up version of a man. We know him as being joyful, large, and old. That's what we're told. Well, there are plenty fat, jolly old men in the world. There are more than enough Santa's to go around, right? Wrong. The true Santa, the real Santa, isn't named Santa at all. He isn't large, happy, fat, and he isn't special. He's a lowly office stiff named Nicholas, and Santa was made from fragments from the collective consciousness of Nicholas. He visualized an alter ego for himself, a portal to escape his cruel reality. Santa never came from an elf family, rather he was an abandoned orphan, making his meager living in the homeless communities throughout the U.S. He grew up this way, appreciating the little things they had, and what little they could share. And thus he grew up, orphaned by the world, loved by the dregs of the planet, the lowest of the low being his only true family. His attributes as Nicholas are used as contrast compared to Santa's. For me thing, Santa's only fat because Nicholas is bone thin and doesn't have anything, so he flipped it around so his alter ego, Santa, was fat, implying he had everything he needed. Santa is always happy about something, whereas Nick, being made to live on the streets, is always downcast, even his appearance suggests he's always sad. Nick is realistic about everything, whereas Santa always jokes and talks nonsensical about things, and even speaks vaguely disconnected sometimes, whereas Nick, has his mind and body firmly planted in reality. Santa cares for everyone because Nick, in his dreary financial status, has time only to worry about himself, leaving no room for others. The only similarity, is that they both want to make things work, to make the world right, to make people better. But this, as usual, has led each down their own path. Nick, to become a manager, and Santa to become a holiday icon. But in the end, Sant can only exist in Nick's mind, a mind of sadness, despair, and economic pressure. The mind that created Santa........

*Note: please don't hate me for making this. I wanted to go for something to make people think, and to fit in with those creepy pastas a bit. Like ' Rugrats Theory'. I wanted it to kind of emulate that sad feeling, as well as have a depressive outlook on Christmas lore. I like its dark tone, and unsettlingly sad mood. It works against what we know about Christmas. Ok, I'm outty.
