My meal of choice. Hot, buttered, moist, freshly baked cornbread. Smooth, creamy, mashed potatoes, seasoned deliciously. Crispy, golden, crunchy, delicious fried chicken breasts, complete with gravy to smother everything but the cornbread. Dessert, well, more cornbread, but sugared like a donut in order to complete the sexiest meal alive. I like making up meals in my head that go great together. I also like comfort food, so southern style meals are a must. Top sirloin steaks, freashly seared to rare perfection, topped only with butter, garlic and onions. Collard greens, steamed nicely and topped with butter, salt and pepper. Corn, steamed until juicy enough to burst, topped with butter. Garlic mashed potatoes, with extra salt and garlic. And finally, caramalized onions to top the steak. Dessert, you ask? Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting, with extra salted nuts for topping, and to complete the sweet-salty goodness of a gorgeous meal. Let's see. County Fair meals. Onion rings, salted and spritzed with vinegar, fries as well. Two sausages on a bun, onions, peppers, ketchup and relish. And last, but certainly not least, two doughboys, one with cinnamon-powdered sugar, and the other with a splash of maple syrup. Delicious, a bit splurgy, but very satisfying. The Boston Harbor Worker: Loaded baked potato (bacon, onion, sour cream, and cheddar mixed with mashed potato in a baked skin), Pan-seared beef steak ( any type will do.) topped with onion and mushroom pan gravy, clam chowder, with a cold pint of brew to help wash it down. Deep Fried ice cream for dessert with peanut butter/chocolate drizzle. Absolutely destructive on the arteries, but another comfort meal. Switch the chowder with a lovely baked mac and cheese, and your eatin' good in the neighborhood. And finally, the Wild Card: A large, all meat pizza with onions and mushrooms, topped with poutine (deep fried French Fries with light gravy and a light sprinkle of cheese), Chicken salad special (random boneless pieces of chicken, battered and fried, then mixed inside a whole oven cooked turkey, mixed with ranch dressing and crushed Taki's. T.A.A.: Total Arterial Annihilation. Anyways, I gotta get some rest and stop thinking about all this damn food. Catch y'all on the flip side. Sheesh!
