She fell asleep in my arms,
Sounds asleep,
Snoozing while I remained awake,
Holding her close,
Thinking about what lay ahead,
Wondering if she saw me in her dreams,
Wondering why she smiled while I watched her,
And thought I was a lucky guy,
Luckiest in the world,
But, questions are the mind's way of limiting happiness,
Would she still love me if I told her what she did when she was asleep?
Would she think I'm some kind of creep?
These thoughts spun in my mind like a dice game,
Churning and cranking out solutions,
I stopped, exasperated and anxious beyond belief,
And looked down to see my angel,
My baby had awoken,
And was staring up at me,
Looking int my mind,
Straight through my eyes,
And smiled,
Leaning closer for a kiss,
And at that moment , I knew,
She would always be my angel.........
*Note: I was dating this girl once back in 2014 when this actually happened. We were both conked out on her couch when this actually occurred. Only difference is, I never called her Angel, just baby, and sweetie, and all those sorts, of pet names. In fact, I called her my Angel only once, when I was singing a song to her. It was cute, but she moved to Wisconsin and we never spoke again. Best 7 months of my life. Also, if your in the Piscataquis Region and wanna hook up, hit me up on any of my social media feeds.
