Literature classroom was filled by the second the professor enters and starts to call on the surnames of the students inside. Today was the day for presenting the term paper we made few weeks back. I was way thankful when Karlos entered the room, telling me that he did not forget to print it out.

"Labajo and Martinez,"

Our surnames were mentioned and the eyes were now darted to us. Karlos shushed me and told me that he'll be the one to present it to the class. He stands up from the chair and hands the file to MsAmanda.

"What book did you pick?" MsAmanda asks.

"Divergent," Karlos answers coolly. MsAmanda motions him to start the presentation and so he did. "The romance of Tris and Tobias Eaton, or known as Four, started at the middle part of the book,"

"What was the start of the romance between the two characters?"

"There was this character in the story – Al – that envied Tris for her improving rank in the Dauntless faction because his rank was eventually dropping. And in the fiction's situation, if you fail in your chosen faction's training, you will be factionless, and if you are factionless, you'll be homeless." Karlos narrated.

"Al allowed envy to overthrow him and so he did a move to Tris that threatened her life. He planned on killing her, but Four, Tobias' codename in Dauntless, intervened and stopped the plan and ended up, killing Al instead."

"So where is the romance from that, MrLabajo?"

"The romance in that situation was shown because of Four's concern for Tris." He said confidently. "You see, Ms Amanda, love doesn't always start in a cheesy way. It starts when you start showing concern and care for that particular person you have in your life. And like how Tris felt in the end of the book, love is when you find life nonsense, unless you spend your life with that person then it would be sensual."

I smiled at his words. Karlos has his way when it comes to speaking that every word he speaks would just be so persuasive and pleasing. By the looks of it, MsAmanda is one of his victims because of his smart mouth.

"Well said, MrLabajo, you may now sit down."

"That was so deep." I commented when he gets in his chair beside me.

"I told you Shakespeare would love me, you should have listened." He smirks. "Honestly, that was scripted. I just want to be a little cheesy in front of the class with you listening to my words."

I laughed at him. "I'd be lying if I say that your words did not affect me."

The class was dismissed as soon as the last pair finished presenting their work in front of the class. Karlos waited for me to finish packing my things in my satchel. When we were like a meter away from the door, MsAmanda called Karlos in for a second. She said she wanted to speak to Karlos.

"I'll just wait right over there." I informed Karlos and pointed at the park bench by the field.

He nods. "I'm sure it won't take that long." He says then ushers me off, making his way back inside to speak with MsAmanda.

I walked to the said park bench and waited for him to get out of the room. Putting my bag on my lap, I pulled out my copy of Paper Towns by JohnGreen. It was a little healthy for me that I brought books from home; it helped me whenever I get bored or if there is really just nothing for me to do.

Minutes after, Karlos walks up to me, his curls messed. I bet he ran his hands a lot of times over them. "What did MsAmanda wants from you?" I curiously asked.

He sighs. "She offered me some sort of internship." He said and my eyes widened. "She said that the way I put out the term paper was brilliant and that my way of writing should be shown not only in class but also in publishing companies."

"That's amazing!" I exclaimed, excitement engulfing me within a second. "If you get to work there, you can leave the crappy café and earn a lot more. Maybe you can even afford a proper baby sitter for Colleen so you don't have to worry about her when you're in school."

"Right," he answers with a smile.

My smile falters. "Why do I have this feeling that I am more excited for this internship than you?"

He chuckles then puts an arm around me. "I'm just equally excited as you, if not more," he says, "I... I'm just shocked. I never really took acknowledge about how fantastic I am in writing. I mean, sure I am in Literature class and all but I never really feel proud of my words or whatever."

I rolled my eyes at him. "You were just bragging about how Shakespeare would love you about your writing earlier."

His body vibrates lightly when he then again chuckles. "I guess I have to bite on it, then?" he asks me and I nod at him. He smiles. "C'mon, I'll treat you with some milkshake and cheeseburger."

Liz and I were playing some sort of a childish card game later at night, seeing that because of my amnesia, I forgot about those cool gambling type of card games. Liz said it was somehow cool, seeing that I used to drain her money because I was good in cards.

She suddenly speaks up as she throws a pair of 7 on the table. "So, Karlos." She says. "Is there something going on with you two?"

I blush like a petty teenager at the mention of Karlos. "You know, there's nothing more that I want but to call him my boyfriend. But the label remains on Darren still." I sighed miserably. "But I would like to make a move on it."

"What do you plan on doing?"

"Break my mother's hope, break up with Darren, explain everything to them," I said. "Then maybe pray for my life because either my mother or Darren would be so angry that they might plot the idea of killing me."

She laughs. "You know, in my opinion, Darren would understand." She says. "Darren loves you more than anything, for as far as I know at least. But your mom? If she finds out that you would want to break up with a member of the Espanto family, she'll go nuts."

"That is why I would want to pray for my life, Liz."

She laughs again. "You know, I will support you in anything, right?" she asks and reaches over the table then rests her hand on mine. "Even in hating your mother to death,"

It was my turn to laugh at her. "Thanks, Liz. That is all I need to hear." I told her then put down a pair of 8 spades on the table. "Hey, I'll just go by the kitchen and see if we have some sort of beers or something, my throat is like having this dry phenomena shit."

She laughs then puts her deck of cards down then raised her hand up in a swearing manner. "Sure thing, princess," she says.

I stood up from the chair and was about to get to the kitchen for the said intention, but the door bursts open, revealing my mother. I suddenly cower like a rat that saw a cat. "Don't worry, I'm not leaving this time." Liz whispers as she stands up too.

"What are you doing here, mom?" I asked her.

Imaginary steam left out her nostrils and ears. "I heard about everything, Andromeda and right at this very moment, I am telling you that you are not going to do that." she glowers. "You're going to listen to me this time,"

"You are not going to do that," Liz speaks for me. "The last time you did that, she got into an accident." My eyes widened. It all made sense now. The recalling I had the last time was the time before I got into an accident and lost my memory.
