"You're out of this. This is none of your business." Liz seemed to be serious when she said she'll support me in everything, including hating my mom. Liz was never the type of teenager that would be so stubborn to fight back to some sort of elder. Sure she was a badass and all, but she has this constant respect for people older than her.

Mom seemed to be the exception, because by the look on my best friend's face, she sure will fight back.

"Your daughter is my best friend." She pinpoints. "She trusts me with almost everything, and this is included in those. This is basically my business too."

My mother chuckles dryly. "This is why I don't like you to be my daughter's friend!" she exclaims, her hands flying up in the air in frustration. "You have a tongue that is badly cultivated. You have no respect."

"By no respect, I think it includes being so nosy about somebody else's life, which is what you're doing to Andromeda." Liz shots back, "So we're just the same, Mrs Martinez. You're no better,"

"How dare you—"

"Stop!" I screamed. "Stop it!"

My mother and Liz stare at me angrily. "Listen to me, Andromeda. You are not breaking up with Darren." She says firmly and it causes my own anger to just double up. "If you're breaking up with someone, it is with the punk dude you're currently head over heels at."

"I am not breaking up with Karlos and I will break up with Darren," I pressed, "Stop this bullshit now, mom. I'm eighteen. I know who I like and who I do not like."

"And so what? You're going to be with that Karlos guy and break up with Darren, then after a couple of years where would you be?" she asked me. "That Karlos Labajo is no match with Darren. Darren is an Espanto. He is financially stable and Karlos is not."

I laughed dryly. "Why didn't you tell me that this is about money?" My mom's cheeks turned red. "Goodness, I don't care for money or wealth or whatever you are concerned about! I love Karlos and I will fight for what we have."

"It is not always about love, Andromeda." My mother sneers. "It is about the stability the man can offer you and what life you'll get when you end up being with that guy."

She really is bad to this. If she wanted me to be financially stable, she should know that I could be as independent as I could wish to be. I don't need a man just to be stable and secured, I must be my own stability and security.

I rolled my eyes. "I don't care if I would be as poor as a rat if I end up with Karlos." I told her. "At least I love him and he loves me back. Now, if you're so head over heels for the wealth and stability that Darren and his family can offer, why won't you do me a favour and be the one with Darren instead? You love their money anyway."

Her hand flies in the air and attempted to slap my cheek, but before her palm meet my cheek, I held her by the wrist. "You're not doing that," I told her, making sure my voice sounded pressured and angry even though a small amount of guilt was already forming.

She claimed her hand back as she glared at both me and Liz. Dramatically, she huffs and says. "This isn't over yet." She says before stomping away from our apartment. Liz watched my mom's car away from our territory by the window then faces me once the black car disappears and is out of sight.

"That was dramatic." She sighs. "Remind me to crown your mother as the Drama Queen next time. I should probably give her a sash too."

I lightly laughed at Liz's statement. My laughter later subsided and I sighed. "Her drama drained me, I'll stay in my room." I told her. "I'll beat your ass off in cards later."
