Faseyi

I ran to her side and touched her wrist looking for pulse. My ability made it easy for me to find one and I raced to my step mother's quarters to call for help. I ran and fell on the veranda the tears blurring my vision. I got up quickly and saw a sign of Ayo. I ran towards him and started sobbing

"Ayo please help me, help my mother please" the tears were coming and he had this look on his face that was scaring me
"I'm busy Seyi" he was about to walk away but I held onto his right leg.
"I beg you Ayo please I'll repay you" that seemed to catch his attention because he turned to the direction of my house and walked there. I got there and maami was sitting on her usual chair. Ayo knelt beside her and felt her pulse before feeling her temperature. Ayo just like mama has healing powers but he rarely uses them. He closed his eyes and a white glow appeared signifying that he is using his powers. I sat there not knowing what to do. The white glow slowly faded and my mother's sleeping figure met my gaze.

I looked up at Ayo who tried to mask his emotions. I held his elbow and he shrugged my hand off.
"she can't be healed seyi. She barely has a year to go" those words stabbed my heart like thorns. It hurt so bad like leeches sucking not only my blood but the life out of me little by little showing no mercy. I covered my mouth and started sobbing.

My mother can't leave me. She's the only one I have. I got up and walked towards the stream. This is the only thing that can calm me down. The tears kept falling and I made no efforts to wipe them away. I got to the edge of the stream and fell on the ground sobbing into my palm. This is no use I have nothing to do in this world, without my mother I'm just and empty vessel. As soon as her days are over so are mine. I just_
"Seyi!" I followed the sound and saw wale's face. I felt more tears falling and I welcomed him as he hugged me. I held his so close and got tears and bugger all over his buba.
"wale she can't be healed" I cleaned my eyes and clenched my fists.
"she's leaving me all alone in this world!" thunder struck and lightning could be seen clearly in the skies. I felt a surge of energy and I screamed. The water in the stream rose high and covered the whole place making me and wale wet. Wale only held me closer and whispered calming world. The anger left and the sadness came again.

My mother is leaving me alone

I felt numb and no tears could come. I got up and wale followed. We got to my house and my mother was already awake. I can't talk to her, not in this state. I walked straight to my room and wale awkwardly followed me after greeting my mother.

"you should talk to her Seyi" he held my hand and I tried to pull it away but he only held it tighter. I ignored him and he sighed before sitting on my bed. I sat on my bed beside him and he started playing with my hair. I started getting drowsy then my eyes started closing. Wale placed me on the bed carefully and I was giving into sleep before I felt a small peck on my lips

" I love you Seyi"

Last night was foggy and I woke up feeling sad with a start. I talked things out with my mother and I made a promise to myself to spend our last days together and treasure it. Kike was surprised and said that she was the one that called wale last night

Poor little thing she's being too nice

I got to the lake and sat down staring at my feet. I raised my arm up and smelled my pits; yuk! I stink. I removed my gown from yesterday and felt the rush of harmattan air encircle me. I stepped into the lake and stayed under.
