Two Years Ago.

"...that's the condition" Ceaser said looking right at Mr. Connor

Jules watching the two gentlemen talking.

"Let me get this straight" Mr. Connor said "You want to hand your company over to my son because you think he's the best and in return you want him to marry your daughter when she turns twenty-five?"

"Yes Mr. Connor" Jules said "You have been friends to this family and my husband's company..."

"Our company darling" Ceaser corrected Jules, turning to face her.

She stood beside his chair both behind Ceaser's desk, Mr. Connor on the opposite side.

Jules looked down at Ceaser and smiled.
"...Our company" she said, looking back at Mr. Connor "And we know what your company is going through"

Mr. Connor's face fell as he sighed

"We give your son our company, using part of the company's money for the next two years to fix your company, in exchange for our daughter's hand in marriage" Jules finished

Mr. Connor looked at them like hey we're crazy.
"My son would be furious" he muttered "Does your daughter know about this?" He asked them

Ceaser and Jules spared each other a look

"I'll take that as a 'No'" Mr. Connor said

Ceaser smiled and looked at him
"Jake, you're my friend so, I'll let you in on something" Ceaser said "Ivy doesn't know about this. She expects to run my company when she graduates Harvard business. She's determined and I want her to learn a thing or two from your son"

"Ceaser, when you say 'my company', which one of them are you referring to?" He asked

"She's always loved the publishing firm like it were her home. So it'll have to be this one Ivy's set her eyes on" Jules said

"Okay." Jake said "You want her to 'learn a thing or two' from my son, why can't you just appoint her his right hand. That way she learns what she has to without tying the knot"

"Jake, we're doing both our children a favor by getting them married" Jules said

Jake raised his brow out of curiosity
"Pray tell"

"Your son has to be faithful which means he can't whore around..." Ceaser said

"Whore around?" Jake asked

Ceaser smiled
"You and I both know your son isn't a saint"

Jake laughed
"Neither were we in our time"

"...And we're saving them a life time of regret. My wife and I have noticed a certain air when both of them are near each other" Ceaser continued

"It's the same one as ours when we met" Jules said, referring to Ceaser

"Those kids hate each other" Jake said

"They think they hate each other" Jules said "It's what happens when you can't do anything but avoid your true feelings towards that person. You're scared he or she might hurt you"

"My son" Jake almost laughed at that "Scared?" He laughed

"Ivy would be mad about this but we'll make her understand why we did this" Ceaser said

"Ceaser if this is what you want..." Jake began "...then you have a deal"

Jules and Ceaser smiled at that

"Thank you Jake" Ceaser said shaking him

"No" Jake said "Thank you. You're saving my company after all"
