Ivy's POV

So I was meeting them today.

I had no idea what I was gonna say to them.

I sighed.

"It's gonna be okay" Dave said

We were seated in the living room.

"But what if something goes wrong?" I asked

"What could go wrong?" He asked, confused

"Uhh, I don't know, me yelling and things getting worse?" I said, sarcastically

He smiled at me
"You're gonna be fine" he kissed my forehead

The doorbell rang.

"They're here" he said, getting up and going to open the door while I stood in the living room fidgeting.

I heard voices and footsteps as I played with my fingers.

"Ivy?" I looked up at my grinning mum and everything was forgotten.

I smiled
"Mum" we met in the middle and hugged.

I shut my eyes trying to hold on to this moment.

"Dad" I said after hugging mum, hugging dad

"Hey, munchkin" he said kissing the top of my head

"I'll leave you guys to talk" Dave said about leaving

"No" I stopped him "This is about you as much as it's about me. We're a family now" I held out my hand to him

He smiled at me and held my hand in his strong ones.

We all sat down.

"I see you two called a truce" dad said

"No" Dave looked at me "It's more than a truce"

"We're in love with eachother" I smiled back at him "It just took us getting married to realize that"

"So it worked?" Mum asked

Dave and I looked at her

"What worked?" Dave asked them

Mum's eyes went wide before she glanced at my dad, then back at us
"Uhh..."

"There's no use hiding it anymore, honey" dad said to mum

"What are you guys talking about?" I asked

"Well, you see, your mum and I noticed something familiar between you and Dave. You both said you hated eachother but we saw something different" Dad said, smiling at mum "Your mum and I were like both of you before we got married. Hatred aside."

"So your dad and I decided to get you both married. Being together would clear the doubts and make you guys see what we saw" mum continued "And looks like it worked. You're both in love with eachother just as we suspected you've always been. The hatred - if we could call it that - was just a cover"

Dave and I just stared at them.

"What's wrong with everybody trying to get us together?" Dave murmured, but I heard.

Lez and Luke.

"Soo...is there also an explanation for why you appointed Dave CEO, I'm not complaining. I just need to know why you did it"

"You wouldn't have met again if we didn't do it. The plan needed him to be where you would be after your graduation. Being CEO was your dream and I'm sorry I took that away from you..." dad said "...but a job doesn't bring happiness. Love does, and my daughter's happiness comes first"
