"Urgh, turn that stupid music off, Valerie!" I shout to my little sister who's listening to One Direction.

"Never!" She screams back, turning up the volume.

I bury my head in my pillow, trying to get back to sleep.

"Valerie! It's like, eight o'clock in the morning!" I yell.

"Actually, it's eleven thirty two!" She replies.

Well, I was off by three hours...

I jump out of bed, throwing on jeans and a t-shirt then heading to the living room to see my fifteen year old sister (who is sick right now) lying on the couch.

"I'm gonna head to work, okay? You okay being home alone?" I ask her, grabbing my bag off the table and grasping the car keys.

"It's almost as if I've been home alone this whole time, I mean, if there was a fire I'd be like 'HELP THERE'S A FIRE AND A BLOODY BIG ONE AT THAT' and then you'd be like 'snore snore'!" She states, rolling her eyes.

"Well that was an entertaining story," I say sarcastically.

"That will be six dollars fifty, please," I smile at my customer.

"Thank you," She mumbles as I hand her her change and her drink.

I'm nineteen, I work at Starbucks and my mum is on a honeymoon with my new step dad. My second step dad.

I stand behind the till, waiting for the next customer.

"Hello, what can I-" I start but cut myself off when I see the two boys in hoodies covering their faces.

"That is really suspicious..." I mutter, seeing one of them nod, keeping their face down.

"I'm gonna call the cops, you know..." I inform them, one of them immediately taking his hood off and staring at me with wide eyes.

His eyes are blue and his hair brown. I recognize him... Meh, I dunno.

"Hi..." I say, unsure of what's going on, "So what can I get you?"

The other one also takes off his hood to reveal his curly brown hair and green eyes.

"You aren't freaking out?" The blue-eyed one asks.

"Should I be?" I raise my eyebrows.

"Whatever, can I get a caramel frapaccino, please," Curly asks me.
