"Mom, it'll be okay." My mom moved the chair she was sitting in closer to my hospital bed and linked her fingers with mine.
"I just don't understand!! He loved you, your dad, grandpa, me, and even grandma! He was like a second dad to me!" She had been crying for around three hours now. I understand, though, she lost her mom. I would cry as well.
Anyways, you probably haven't heard that much about my cancer in a while. It's hard to believe but I've been a cancer patient for over two years! So yes, I was fourteen and I've completely forgotten to tell you how much WORSE my cancer got in those two years of having it.
I had Stage II Thyroid Cancer, meaning that my cancer had spread throughout most of my neck. This pretty much translates to, "Carly, you're going to die." I'm not saying I was doomed, but the doctors told my parents and I that I had a 50/50% chance of making it out in one piece. And honestly, losing my leg probably decreased my chance of survival. So, now I was certain that I was going to die.
--Time skip-2 years--
I was back in the hospital again but this time it was actually for a good reason. In two years, my parents had saved up enough money to buy me a prosthetic leg. I also didn't go to school, which translates to I was homeschooled!!!(A/N- Fun fact: I'm actually a Florida Virtual School Student!! Fun Fact: I live in Florida!!!) It's pretty much the same thing subtracting the bullying.
So, they fit me into a prosthetic leg and I went home. Nothing really happened that day. You know, the typical cancer patient who lost her leg due to being shot. You see that a lot right? Right. I was also just really happy that day since I had my sweet sixteen a few days before. Yes, I had no leg, but I couldn't ask for a better party. I really had no friends, but family can be just as fun. They are always there for you and you guys HAVE to stay friends, since you're family. So, nothing can really go wrong unless someone got divorced...Annywaaays, I've never had friends. Let's just say that time, I had stage IV thyroid cancer which meant those cancer cells are spreading. I JUST COULDN'T ESCAPE CANCER. It was like a vacuum, sucking me in and throwing me around inside. I couldn't take it anymore. By this time, I really wanted to be done...
