Translations

How the translations work:

In this story I will use a lot of Sindarin (Elvish) words. I won't often put whole sentences in Sindarin, since it would be hard for you to understand that and not all English words have a Sindarin translation. I will put every chapter name in Sindarin however, with their translation in brackets [] after.

You can find all the translations of the words and sentences here, sorted by chapter. I will also put the translations at the end of each chapter, but I advise you to keep this chapter in another tab while reading the story. Have fun!

curunír = wizard

cadhad, cedhaid = Dwarf, Dwarves

edhel, edhil = Elf, Elves

i-Drann = Elven name for The Shire   

Mithrandir = Elven name for Gandalf

Taur-nu-Fuin = Elven name for Mirkwood 

Imladris = Elven name for Rivendell

Mae l'ovannen, Hîr Baggins = Well met (Elvish greeting), master Baggins

Cedhaid hewrin = filthy Dwarves

cadhad rhachas = cursed Dwarf

gwanur = brother (through kin)
