Three Years

Chapter 17

*Aphmau's POV*
"Aph? Are you there?" Is all I hear. I shoot my head up. "Yes, who is it?"
"It's me, Gene." I sighed. "What do you need?" I ask. "Can I come in please?"
"Sure."
Gene enters the room, quietly shutting the door behind him. "How are you?" He asks, positioning himself at the end of my bed. "I'm doing fine." He looks at me in disbelief. "Okay fine. I'm doing horrible."
He moves closer to me and starts to pat my back. "Once your fiance gets here, he'll stop him. If he really loves you, he'll do anything for you." I smile, leaning my head on his shoulder. "Thank you, Gene."
"No problem. Now I need to go, ya know, so that the boss doesn't find me "flirting" with his "soon to be wife"."
"Wait!" I say, as he grabs the door handle. He turns around, "Yeah?"
"I don't wanna be along right now... Can you please just... stay with me for tonight?" Gene blushed, looking at his feet. "Fine, but if I get in trouble it's your fault." I laughed, "Deal."
He walked back over, crawling next to me on the side near the wall. "Goodnight Aph." He said, putting his arm around me. I snuggled up next to him, "Goodnight Gene."

*Aaron's POV*
As Garroth and I were walking, we heard our names being called. The voice was oddly familiar.
"Aaron! Garroth!" It called again. This time I turned around and saw. Laurence. "Laurence? Is that you?" I asked, squinting to get a clearer look.
Garroth ran up beside me. "That is Laurence." He said, amazed, probably to see his friend again.
Laurence ran up to us, "Guys," he gasped for air, "I need you to come with me."
"Why?" I asked, slightly confused. "I have Aphmau with me." My eyes widened. "Well, then let's go!" I said, sounding like a child being brought to the circus.
"Okay let's go."

We followed Laurence to a Nether Portal. "She's in there?" Garroth said, pointing at the glowing figure. "Yes, now come on." Laurence said.
We stepped in.
Once we entered, something hit the back of my head, causing my vision to blur. I got a quick look at Garroth who was knocked out instantly. Then everything turned dark.

*Aphmau's POV*
I woke up a few hours later. Gene was still next to me. Then I heard a knock on my door. Gene's head instantly shot up. "Aohmau. Aphmau. We need you to come get ready for the wedding." Aaron's here.
"Okay. I'll be out in a minute."
"Okay. By the way, have you seen Gene? I can't find him anywhere." I froze, "N-no." He paused before answering. "Okay. Just hurry. Shad is a very impatient man." Then I heard footsteps, indicating he left.
"You're good." I told Gene. He sighed in relief. "You should probably go." He said, giving a weak smile. "I'll be fine." I said, putting my hand on his cheek. "I can believe that. You're a very strong woman." I hugged him, leaving.

The dress was very uncomfortable. It was a dark black lace dress, but it was super tight. I hated it. "You look lovely." I heard from behind me. I looked. "Oh, umm, hi Zenix." I didn't think he was alive, to be honest. "Hello Aphmau. You ready to get married?" He smirked. I rolled my eyes, "I don't like Shad. I love-"
"Yeah we all know, you love Aaron. My Irene how many times do you have to say it?"
"Can you just leave please?" He laughed. "Fine. See you out there." Zenix walked out, leaving the door wide open. Well, here goes nothing.

*Aaron's POV*
I woke up, tied to a chair. Garroth was beside me. I was in a tuxedo, and so was Garroth. I looked forward and saw someone in a fancy suit. (Sorry not say tuxedo again, but if you wanna change it, go right on ahead)
"Oh you guys are awake." The man said, grinning. "Who are you and what's going on!?" I shout. "You didn't hear the news? Aphmau and I are getting married!" He laughed.
My heart sank.
"Aaron, she doesn't love him I promise." The voice was back.

'I hope not... I feel like I just got stabbed a hundred times in the chest...'

"She loves you and only you. Don't worry."
Then he was gone. I gulped down my tears.
The music started to play. I tried to look behind me, to see Aph, but I couldn't.
She reached the front and she looked beautiful. Garroth had his head down, on the verge of tears. "It's going to be okay." I said to him. He nodded.
Laurence was on the other side of the room, twirling something is his finger. Aph's engagement ring.

*Aphmau's POV*
They went through all of the other wedding stuff before Gene finally asked, "Do you, Shad, take Aphmau to be your wife?"
"I do." That made me flinch and cringe. "And do you, Aphmau, take Shad to be your husband?"
A tear slid down my cheek. "No." I whispered. "What did you say?" Shad growled. "I said no!" I shouted louder. "You little brat! Zenix!" Zenix stood up, "Yes?"
"Kill them." He said, pointing at Aaron and Garroth. "No please don't." I croaked.
"As for you," He looked at me. He walked forward, closer and closer to me. Then he kissed me. I tried to push him off me but he was to strong. Finally he broke it. "You sick man." I said, whipping my lips.
I looked over at Aaron and Garroth, they were horrified. I ran over to them. I lifted Aaron's chin. "B-babe." He said through his tears. "She Aaron I'm here."
Zenix walked over to us. "Move Aphmau." He spat. "No. I won't move. You will not kill the ones I love."
"Aph. Look at your back." Garroth said with wide eyes. I looked around and I saw wings. My wings. "Come and get me Zenix." I said, smirking.
He ran up trying to to hit me, but I attacked him with a blast of white light. He hissed in pain, before collapsing to the ground.
Shad growled. "If you want your friends to live, you will marry me."
"I wouldn't marry you. Ever. And the aren't going to die." He chuckled deeply. "Say goodbye to your friends." He pulled out a black gem. "What's that?" I asked nervously. "It's a death gem. Whoever gets hit by it dies instantly. Sadly, it only has one use."
Then an idea hit me.
Shad held the gem out toward them. Black light shined from it. Then it shot out.
I ran over, spreading out my wings covering them. I screamed in pain. "Dang i-" I heard Shad say, but he never finished his sentence. I looked behind me and saw a sword through his chest. Gene was standing over him.
"Gene. Thank you." I smiled, walking over to him. I hugged him. He hugged back, "It was nothing. Now go."
"What about you and Laurence?"
"We'll be fine." He smiled sadly. I kissed his cheek. "I'll come see you guys soon."
"I'd like that."
Laurence was no where to be seen.
I untied Aaron and Garroth. I pulled Aaron into my arms. "I thought you would die." I said. "Babe, I wouldn't ever leave you." He kissed my forehead. I hugged Garroth, "You doing okay?" I asked. He nodded, "Thank you."
"Of course." I smiled. I grabbed both their hands. "Let's go home."
"Wait! Your ring." I heard a voice from behind me.
It was Laurence.
I let go of their hands and ran to him. I hugged him and he hugged back. "I'll see you again soon. I promise." I said.
He smiled. "Here. Your going to need this." He slipped my ring back on my finger.
"Bye guys!" I said, waving. "Bye! Come back soon. Well, maybe when your wedding comes up." Gene said laughing.
We walked out towards the portal.

When we got back I felt a little dizzy. I was starting to lose my balance. "Babe, you okay?"
"Yeah I'm fine. Just a little dizzy." Then I fell to the ground.
