Quick note: The italics on her and she is supposed to be Aph's name. Hope you enjoy the chapter!
*Aaron's POV*
"Why did they take her away?" Is what I have asked for the last forty-eight hours. The only thing I got, everytime I asked, was, "She needs help." They didn't tell me what kind of help. They didn't tell me where they were taking her.
I was left to cry. I cried until the tears stopped flowing. I was shaky and aching to see her. Lilith left. Zoey took her. She said that until she was back, I couldn't see Lilith. Apparently I wasn't at full mental capacity to be around others like Lilith.
Alina is gone too. Zoey took them to her old village. They told me to stay inside, not to leave the house. They didn't want me to come find her.
I wasn't aloud to see her until her testing and all that is done. They didn't even want me to say her name. I wish this happened to me. Not her. Why her? Why not me?I threw a rock against the wall. They gave me rocks to keep me "occupied". That's what they like to call it. I say more trying to break something. All the glass things in the room- shattered. All wooden objects- destroyed. Everything else- in the process of breaking.
I hate myself for letting this happen to her. I hate it.
No one knows what happened and how it happened. I think it had to do with Lily. She must have done something when she knocked her out.
I was lost in my own world, when someone walked into the room. It was Garroth.
"Hey Aaron. You doing alright?" He asked. He had something in his hand. It was a wood board with some food on it. I shrugged my shoulders. He walked over, placing the "tray" on the table next to me. He sat down on the bed.
"I know you miss her, but it's for the best right now. She needs help and this is the only way to make sure she's okay. What if it's something more serious than what we thought it was? What would we do?"
I didn't make eye contact with him as I said, "Couldn't have Lucinda done something? Or maybe find someone is Phoenix Drop that could've helped? We didn't have to ship her off to Irene knows where, to be tested on." I felt the anger growing in my voice.
I stood up and went to the door. "Where are you going?" Garroth asked. I ignored him, walking out the door and down the stairs.
"Aaron, you know you can't leave the house." I growled, "If I cared I wouldn't be walking out right now." The sun burned my eyes as I stepped outside. I hissed. I looked around to make sure that no one could see me. Garroth came up behind me.
"What are you doing?" He asked. I didn't answer him and kept walking. I threw my hood up and put on my mask. "Aaron, I know you can hear me. Answer me." He said, his voice a little hushed. I turned around, grabbing his arm, pulling him behind a tree. "Don't you want to know where she is?"
"I do, but-" I cut Garroth off. "Then come with me. I'm going to go find where she is." He sighed, "Fine, but if I get in trouble for this, it's all your fault."
"Sounds fair to me." I said. We walked to the gates, but there were guards keeping watch. For me. "I have to find a way to sneak past them." Garroth pointed to the staircase leading up to the watchtower. "Brilliant!" I said running. I watched Garroth walk out through the gates. I reached the top and looked over the edge. I was about to jump when I heard a voice. It was him."Aaron, what do you think you're doing. You could get hurt jumping from there." It said.
'Nice to see your back. And I'm going to go find her. I hate the thought of my fiance being so far away.'
It sighed, "Please be careful. If you die, so do I."
I was confused, 'I thought you were just a voice I heard in my head. How could you die? Also, how am I going to die? They can't kill me for no reason.'
"I am more than a voice, Aaron. And you may be surprised. You never know who you may run into."
'Then what are you?' I asked, avoiding the last thing it said.
"I'll visit you tonight, in your dream, to reveal what I am."
Then it was gone.
I jumped off the top of the gate. I joined Garroth by the trail, making sure I stay hidden. "Ready to go?" He asked. I nodded in response.
Don't worry Aph. I'm coming.
Hey guys! Sorry for the late updates. I am truly sorry about that. I just have been at a loss for ideas and I get distracted with other things. I promise to stay more consistent. I will try my hardest. Anyway, Happy New Year! It's finally 2017! I don't know how I feel about the new year, but I hope it's alot better than 2016 was. 2016 sucked for me.
