You're keeping both your binders balanced in your arms as you sling over your bag full of books.
Beside you, Hermione gives a small chuckle as she attempts the same thing.
"We definitely need to find a more efficient way to carry our books. I can't count how many times I have almost toppled over." You give a sigh, while Hermione nods.
"I'll look into it, y/n." She smiles and gestures for us to head out of the classroom.
"Wow, I can't believe we have the same classes this year." You give a small smile, and she nods her head in agreement.
"It's nice to be able to keep a conversation that isn't about Ginny or about late projects." She laughs, whispering with a smile about both Harry and Ron.
"I'm not sure I'm exactly indepth with our conversations." The two of you walk down the corridor and she shrugs.
"That's fine. It's just nice to have a fresh pair of ears." She glances back to give you a smile, as you maneuver around a group of students.
You had just transferred from studying at Durmstrang for your sixth year. Hermione immediately took you under her wing with open arms, despite the fact that you've been privately sorted into Slytherin.
Hermione helped you with the layout of the school and effectively most of your classes, despite that you picked up every class easily.
The two of you clicked easily for the last couple of months, and you felt yourself become friends with her.
"How's Viktor Krum anyways? He talked about you alot. Brilliant, that's how he described you." She bites her bottom lip quickly as the two of you move along the courtyard.
"He's good. Do the two of you still write?" You raise an eyebrow, watching her carefully.
"Once a week usually." She shrugs, and by the expression on her face, you know she wants to switch the subject.
You follow Hermione into the Great Hall with a little smile. You stop as she does, her eyes rolling. "It wouldn't kill you to sit with me."
"It would upset the nature of balance." You answer back with a witting retort as always.
"Fine."
You head toward the Slytherin table with a little sigh.
You slink into the bench by yourself, slinking your head into your hands. It doesn't take long for the rest of the room to fill and soon everyone is talking and laughing.
Throughout the dinner you attempt to reach Hermione's eyes, and everytime you look over, she's already pulling a smile for you.
The two doors for the room open, and in step Lavender and Ron: hand in hand.
Your goblet firmly slams against the table, pumpkin juice sliding down your hand. You definitely aren't the biggest fan of Ron, or Lavender.
Hermione meets your eyes before rolling her own, standing and catching everyone's attention.
