never give up
|sia|"Remus, you never answered my question," your whisper comes in the front hallway of your home, watching as he droops in the doorway.
You watch his jaw clench easily, not liking the turn of the conversation just before leaving. "Give me some time," his whisper echoes through the tattering wallpaper.
"I've given you lots of time, and my patience is wearing thin. Am I ever going to get a concrete answer from you Remus?" You search for his familiar green eyes, but are not able to firmly grasp them. He digs one hand further into the ratted pocket on his jacket, rotating his weight.
"All I want is a yes or a no. It doesn't have to be as complicated as you're making it," you move closer toward him, wanting to grab him by the shoulders and shake him. You wouldn't be sure of the outcome so keep your impulses to yourself.
"I'll see you at dinner." Those are the last words that fall from his lips, and he shuts the door behind him leaving you in your silence.
The two of you stare opposite of each other, knives and forks the only sound between you. The tension is steadily rising as Remus leans forward and grips at his goblet.
Your eyes flicker back toward him, watching his movements carefully.
You tuck a strand of your short hair behind your ear, and push your plate away from you with little appetite.
He glances up at the noises, "Morgan, I'm sorry."
Your mouth grows incredibly dry at his words, but otherwise you're left waiting.
"I owe you an apology and an explanation. You've been nothing but caring, gentle, kind and deserve more than I'm able to give you."
You're unable to give an answer at his words, and clasp your hands along the table.
"It's alright Remus," you shake your head but he frowns.
"My behaviour is not okay Morgan," he cuts you off, his green eyes swollen with swimming emotions.
You glance down at the wooden table, sighing once more. "You've been waiting for answer and I've been nothing but hesitant with you."
"Why Remus?" You lean forward this time as he puts down both of his utensils.
His eyes are grazing over as he brings he stands up. He shoves both hands into his pocket walking toward you. "I don't entirely know how to say this."
"Remus, what could possibly have you struggling for words?" You tilt your head before deciding to stand up and meet him halfway.
You stand comforted in his familiar scent as you hold both your hands out. He slumps his shoulders, and you easily read something is clearly bothering him.
