Calum's PoV:
For the first time in what seemed like years I was woken up by my alarm instead of Eli wanting me to make him breakfast or Cade's hysterical crying.
I shut off the alarm and then laid in the bed for a few minutes, thinking about last night with Nessa.
Kissing her was so exciting to me, and when I had asked her to stay the night she had written it off as a joke, but I had been quite serious. Being close with another woman like that had been something I had craved since before I had even married Meredith.
I had never had that normal, casual intimacy in a relationship before. Yes, I'd had sex with Meredith, but that was it. She never wanted to be intimate with me other than those times.
So now it felt like I had all of this pent up energy inside me that I needed to let out, and Nessa didn't seem to mind if I let it out on her.
Footsteps were heard coming down the hall and I opened my eyes to see Eli run into my
room."Hey bud." I yawned as he climbed up on the bed. "Is Cade up?"
"No." Eli said as he climbed up on the bed.
"Come lay with me." I lifted up the blanket for him to crawl underneath and I put my arm over him. "Did you have fun with Nessa last night?"
"Yeah." He nodded. "She's funny."
"She is funny." I smiled. "She told me you had a girlfriend."
When I said that he nodded his head enthusiastically.
"Can I meet her?"
"She lives on another planet."
"Ah, I see." I chuckled. "So you like having Nessa around?"
"Yeah, I like it when she babysits me."
"Good. We're going over to Nessa's house tonight for dinner."
"We are?"
"Yeah."
The sound of crying was then heard coming down the hallway and I sighed as I let Eli go and got out of bed to go take care of Cade.
After a diaper change he was good to go and so I took them both to the kitchen for breakfast.
As they sat at the table eating cereal the house phone rang and I turned to grab it from its stand on the counter.
"Hello?"
"Calum."
It was my mother.
"Hey, Mom."
"I was just calling to see if you and the kids wanted to meet for dinner tonight."
"Oh, we actually have plans tonight but we'd be free tomorrow."
"Tomorrow is fine. What are you doing tonight?" She asked.
I wasn't ready to tell her I was dating someone, I wanted to talk about that with Nessa first.
"We are going to a friends house for dinner."
"Oh, okay then. Well let me know what time and place tomorrow."
"Okay, talk to you later."
I hung up the phone and then went to make my own bowl of cereal and eat breakfast.
Once all three of us had eaten it was time to get the boys dressed, fix their hair, and brush their teeth before we could leave the house to run our errands.
